Someone please explain to me why the P1Y1 is at BR 3.3 because from my own experience, its gunner coverage is small, defensive guns are slow-firing and most importantly, IT CAN’T EVEN TAKE OUT A BASE BY ITSELF???
The only good/interesting thing about it are
Speed - Not very fast but faster than other bombers so it only helps minimally?
Airbrakes - Good for dives
Torpedo - Interesting but torpedoes feel pretty bad in test flights. Also, there are barely any maps with naval targets in ARB so not that useful.
The main problem is it couldn’t take out a base by itself in all my games so I really don’t see why it should be at 3.3.
its just hard to balance. Poor payload and no offensive weapons but pretty respectable at everything else.
But it does carry 20 mils, sure the FOF are pretty bad, with the rear one not able to depress below the horizon and the forward one that points downward.
It is not only fast but also turns and rolls pretty well, which means you can juke all you want on it.
but it is what happens when an aircraft is made around torpedoes, WT has like 3 map with ships on it that you can reasonably sink.
Send it to 3.0 and almost 90% of stuff can’t catch it unless they dive on it.
There is another bomber like which is the Arado Ar 234 at 6.3, mid payload and speed only shows up after the drop.
Yes I agree, when the rounds do hit, they do pretty significant damage but the gunner seems really jerky which makes it difficult to aim while maneuveuring. (Gaijin should look into this and fix this?)
Yeah, it is very agile but the gunners are jerky in my experience and they don’t shoot well when moving around.
Yes, at 3.3, its speed is only average and the payload is extremely lacking. I got downtierred to 2.7 once and it’s a monster lol. That’s the problem, at 3.0 most usually get uptierred to 3.3 or downtierred to 2.7 because not many vehicles at 3.0 but at 2.7 it’s crazy good while at 3.3, it’s mid so I can see it being difficult to balance.
Hope this get implemented soon PLEASE GAIJIN. Or maybe Gaijin could mod the plane so it’s like late BF-109s where you can switch guns? Also Gaijin should definitely fix that gunner but it’s probably because of how Gaijin implemented the aiming angles.
