Why is the Type 81(C) at 11.7 when it has no radar, the missiles tend to hug the ground or nearest wall after launch and it has less than 8km range. It can’t fight helicopters, it can’t fight planes and it barely can hit drones so what’s the deal. Why’s it at 11.7 when it can’t defend itself?

Even if it goes down, there is no tank from 9.7 to 11.7 anyway. So its either 11.7 with type 90 or lower br but still gets dragged to type 90. Dragging 9.7 and 9.3 stuff will obv be bad idea
Was 1000000% the leading King of Anti-CAS when introduced at 10.0 BR out of all the SAMs that existed during its time of introduction. So its why we see it at 11.7 where it faces longer range threats that it cannot reach or see since it proved super effective against 9.0 to 11.0 CAS. Jets with no FnF or far range attacks didn’t stand a chance against it.
Unfortunately, as much as I want to see it back at 11.3 or 11.0, Gaijin will not lower it due to them having a high K/D and its effectiveness. Anywho, that’s the reason why it currently sits at 11.7…they butchered my favorite SAM up lol sucks…
What a shame, it could still be a somewhat decent AA if not for the lack of range and self defense. Thanks for the explanation.
That’s not enough of an excuse. If that were the case the Type 87 P and TKX P should go down since they’re 0.3 BR higher than the other vehicles for the sake of the lineup. It shouldn’t be 0.3 below the Pantsir or CS SA5 when they get: a radar, longer range missiles and 30mm cannons. I understand the vehicles are balanced by stats but if no one uses it how can the BR change.
Thats not an excuse, Im just telling that it will have no proper lineup. Tkx p and type 87 rcv p are both tanks that can actively get kills so they can be base of your lineup unlike type 81 which is useless for ground combat.
