Osa-AK and Osa-AKM: Air Defense Classics

Hopefully this anti-aircraft vehicle will not be given Scouting, which is applicable only against ground vehicles and should be the preserve of Light Tanks and historical reconnaissance vehicles.

  1. For those who say air kills do not give enough rewards, you’re approaching the problem in reverse. Advocate for increasing ground-to-air kill rewards instead.

  2. For those who spawn AA when no enemy aircraft are present, and complain when you get no kills, I diagnose you with skill issue.

When ground players are massacred by CAS:

When ground players spawn SPAA earlier:

“sKiLl IsSuE” (somehow)

I play GRB/SRB and have no high tier jets to complement my ground vehicles, but get plenty of fun from shooting down fast jets. That said, sometimes you go fishing and don’t catch anything.

Increasing the rewards for SPAA is needed in my opinion, but blurring the line between Light Tanks and SPAA is a dumb fix.

Edit; I play 10.7 because I like late Cold War vehicles and enjoy the balance at that BR, I don’t care about sweaty Top Tier activities.

The point is. Any reward in the SPAA or CAP is entirely dependent on their being somehing to shoot at, which you cannot control. Scouting gives SPA, at least those with reasonable performance to take up a forward position, like the Stormer HVM, something to do in the meantime

This is very frustrating indeed, and a big deterrent to spawn SPAA.

I think the extra isn’t ever too much. Rewards should be increased, and, in my opinion, an option to J-out of SPAAs on the spawn, just like planes, to avoid wasting time if you didn’t time the spawn right; but I think being able to spot at least gives you something to do, and is an extra way to contribute and earn rewards if there are no planes at a present time.

Nice to see Romanian vehicle represented even despite it isn’t much unique apart from camo.
I hope this country will be represented more, as they have a lot of interesting designs and modifications in many cases mixing Eastern and Western technologies.

Giving Scouting to SPAA detracts from the primary purpose of Light Tanks. Increased per-kill rewards, or better activity rewards for SPAA (example; for providing AA cover to teammates) would make non- reconnaissance vehicles being given Scouting unnecessary.

I admit to being a purist on this subject.

Not really. Light Tanks still have mobility to go across the battlefield, flanking and playing the objective and even brawling, and the ability to actually fight ground vehicles with proper canons ant ATGMs while doing so.

Just because SPAAs can scout once in a while people coming too close to the spawn it doesn’t detract from Light Tanks.

All the reward buffs you mention should still come tho.

I dont entirely agree, but I understand the point. But im personally hoping for some hybrids.

Like the Warrior VERDI 2. Basically a Warrior but with Starstreaks and IRST? I think. Allow the player to fullfill to roles at once. Same with the Stormer HVM, being able to scout/deal with light tanks whilst providing close range cover for your team.

If the SPAA doesnt have the range to sit back, then it should have value beyond just AA

SAMs that only carry IR missiles should definitely have scouting as they cannot do anything else when there is no plane up.

I’d be okay with getting rid of scouting on SPAAs and SAMs that can kill ground vehicles, but only if they get some form of advanced aircraft scouting.

I mean, it’s already the case; Pantsir, ADATS, etc

I knew about most british SPAAs/SAMs not having scouting, wasn’t sure if any of the other nations SPAAs with the ability to kill ground vehicles have scouting

Looks like a boat considering its size, hopefully this will help Italy tech tree with the Anti air issue. My guess is very effective in 12.0 for switching places with OTOMATIC.

@Stona_WT This doesn’t make sense, you’re saying that the akm got improve missiles but in game both will be the same?

They’re adding the AKM’s M3 missiles to the AK’s as well. Probably technically compatible.

The missile which is used by the akm is supposed to have a range of 15km while the missiles that the akm uses in the dev were 10km

Same missile, the launcher cant track and guide it beyond 10ish km

It’s amphibious too, so you can use it as a boat
