OPLOT; inaccuracies, discussion, reports

I agree its a dumb standard, but the Oplot going to the USSR…? Meh…

Because they “prefire” it knowing damn good the proofs are the same as other 10+ closed/“not enough info” reports

Well, this report seems promising at least

Does anyone have the document that outlines the UAE tests as mentioned in the post? If they don’t upload them, one should make another suggestion with the correct report attached.

I’m hoping the author will respond, I don’t speak Russian so finding the source is going to be very hard

The source of the information was most likely the Telegram channel “Танки. История и современность. Btvt.info”. His last post was made on September 10.
(I used a translator, so there may be mistakes.)

《АКТ испытаний динамической защиты «НОЖ»》maybe sth like this Динамическая защита «Нож» танка БМ «Булат» I can’t read Russian☹️

Have you watched/read the news anywhere in the last 3 years?

Yeah I’m sure that has something to do with the Ukrainian tree not being added in a tree that also has modern Russian vehicles.

It’s not really the same case. For example, the Stingray is an American design, which was only used by Thailand. The Vickers Mk1 is a British design, only used by India. The Vickers Mk3 is a British design, but only used by several African countries. On the other hand, the Oplot is Ukrainian, and Thailand bought some units from them. However, the Oplot is Ukrainian, not the USSR, since its design and production postdated Ukraine’s independence.
It would be like putting all the Chinese Type 99s in the USSR because they were based on their models.

By your logic T90A/M, BMD4 series, T80UK/M2/E1, T80BVM, 2S38 and other vehicles that were designed and produced by Russia should be removed from USSR tech tree.

Okay they didnt add oplot as ukrainian vehicle. They added it to Japan so oplot will be fighting versus t90m and t80bvm. Im wondering if this has something to do with news you speak about.

Praga which was developed by czechs (not soviets) and is currently used by countries like Slovakia and Serbia is in soviet tree (tho this one could be somewhat justified by some history events in that region after WW2). T72M2 Moderna which is made by Slovakia after USSR collapsed is in soviet tree. T72AV which is T72M upgraded by syrians and italians is also in soviet tree.
There is no point for such tree because we already have soviet tree with czech, slovakian, kazakhstan and syrian vehicles.

Also lets not forget that Ukraine and Belarus got most of soviet weapons (after Russia). Not Czech Republic, Slovakia or Kazakhstan (we have their vehicles in soviet tree).

Absolutely right.

This is how they assessed the armor of the BM Oplot tank👇

Basically, Oplot loses textolite in exchange for RHA and heavy ERA…

It should be MUCH stronger than T-80U, not weaker, as it is as of now!

Unless they have updated it today, o still haven’t had the chance to check today.

No they didn’t update, unfortunately there is a double standard in this game, and we all know who is number one.

Can’t wait for dev’s approach to some earlier T-84 model with Nizh ERA on UFP that doesn’t get textolite replaced by ERA.

Will they give it (Nizh tile) numbers from Duplet ERA or will go for actual numbers per Nizh-1M tile (that states 50% without any support)? If it is the former, Gaijin is absolutely wrong because according to manufacturer’s brochure (that they love so much it is shown in every closed bug report concearning ERA or hull armor) it doesn’t work so, thus needing a rework of Duplet in-game (something they wouldn’t be bothered with for sure); if it is the latter, it is absolute cinema of a Gaijin because why would 2x ERA tiles + “something in-between we made it up” (according to devs) give much lower values in equivalent than 1x ERA tile on T-80UD type hull?

Spoiler

Actually I know the answer. They will count earlier T-84’s hull that derrives from from T-80UD as a “part of ERA system/package”, thus the entire hull should defeat only 50% of 3BM42 (fr fr the brochure states it don’t you see, and some photo that shows it as well… wdym it is not it?)
