OPLOT; inaccuracies, discussion, reports

Greetings!

I have made this topic to discuss OPLOT and its depiction in War Thunder.

The topic was initially about spall liners, but it has now devolved into other matters, such as the vertical gun traverse speed, so I edited it out.

I’ve been searching for that for quite some time, sadly it doesn’t - It only has the typical anti radiation liners, which visually looks like concrete all over the walls.

Ah, that settles it, then- thank you for the clarification!

I will not delete this topic just in case anyone else has the same doubts, so they can access it and find the answer here.

Speaking of Oplot… do you know whether the 2º/s gun elevation speed it has in the Dev Server is correct, or WIP shenanigans?

I don’t remember any source regarding that tbh.

The vertical aiming speed is 1 degree (But other tanks in our game don’t use aiming speed.)

The characteristics of the PV1888 state that the rod speed is 140 mm/s and the maximum rod stroke is 165 mm.

Therefore, in the game, the vertical aiming speed should be around 15 degrees per second🤔

Hoooooooly Jesus.

I really hope they go with the, at least, 15º/s figure… the current Dev one is absolutely unplayable xD.

15 would be slow, but manageable, at least.

I agree with you

This is unplayable

15degrees is faster than all jp mbt 😂, that will be a really great improvement

If, of course, developers pay attention to the characteristics of the gun stabilizer

Have you reported it already? I’d very much like to see the change, legit better than most JP MBTs atm… But does that also mean Soviet MBTs (T-80 for example) shall have their targeting speeds increased? There’re a lot of factors influencing horizontal/vertical traverse speeds

Not yet

This stabilizer was installed in the T-64 Bulat, T-84, and BM Oplot. I am not aware of this stabilizer being installed in other tanks🤷‍♂️

Is there any info on the ufp protection on the Oplot? Because 250mm of armor is obviously incorrect.

Also, any chance that the -4° of gun depression being wrong?

Sadge…

Japan and terrible gun handling, name a more iconic duo
I wonder, if we get a Leopard 2RI, will they nerf the Leopard 2 elevation speed just to keep up this trend?

Aiming speed not the same as the maximum speed of the stabilizer. According to KMDB website, the maximum aiming speed is 1 degree per second vertically.
How to reply to this🤔

Other tanks do not use this speed

Wait… are we serious?

So T-84 is going to have a 2º/s vertical traverse speed!?

FOR REAL? That’s literally PANZER IV.J’s value!

Well, this tank is going to be useless, then. Zero hype for it anymore.

Should be 4°/s fully upgraded and aced crew. sad values, I know. Though you can think of the oplot as the T-80UE-1, but with more armor (sadly the ufp’s armor value doesn’t look promising at the moment)
