Open cockpit canopy exploit needs to be eliminated

If you are posting replays and don’t watch counter-evidence to your claims (that replays are not representative of what you hear within cockpit view), how do you expect anyone to discuss and debate with you in equal faith and investment?

Due to the rather undeniable, notable absence of engine sounds while in replay mode you cannot reasonably use it to make arguments in any direction. If you say “Opening canopy makes engine noise easier to hear” then that means it makes your own engine easier to hear too, which consequently drown out enemy aircraft if one is using proper realistic settings (both own engine noise and others’ engine noise are set at equal volume%).

I’m not saying anything obout open canopy, I’m saying that in A-10 with Closed Canopy I can hear things which should not be audible.
If you don’t believe me try it your self (premium A-10 in test flight).

And going to test my spitfire in a Custom battle with live recording and intentionally flying into the middle of the furball with canopy open, tell me - can you glean any useful information about anything?

Spitfire picked because its canopy can be opened (unlike zeros) and it’s able to stay in the furball of weird magic flightmodel bot players in custom battles almost indefinitely.

Challenge:

Watch this video and tell me...

Could you hear this guy?

I could reach out and rub this 109's belly

What of this enormous furball of doom?

Him?

These guys?

Now?

He literally flew under me.

Near head-on collission!

We're almost touching wingtips!

Replay version (oddly, the spitfire’s prop sound could be heard unlike mustang’s? Gotta love jank. Will test with Ki-61 later maybe for completeness’ sake.)

Replay version, presently being uploaded. Should be finished in... 10-15 minutes? God I need faster internet.

Caveats: Bot player driven planes may have different sound levels.
I will try and remember to record flying in a spit or Ki-61 next time I find a furball in a live match and open the canopy for !SCIENCE!

However, until then have:

Bf109K4 video recorded for another forum argument (smashing rudder stalls you)

You might have missed I was talking about jet powered A-10 not pistons…

Every “solution” proposed in this thread that didn’t involve me, Runa, or another prop enjoyer would invariably affect props greatly.

But even in subsonic jets I can’t hear anything if its not happening right next to me.

The fact that after one year (since this topic was posted) there is still people trying to making excuse to justify the exploitation (with jets) of what is just a proorly designed feature, just tells a lot about these people intellectual honesty and what is their idea of fairness or their mental capability to grasp the concept of objectivity. Which, by the way, is ironic considering that the majority of those always play the card of WT being a game so is should trade hystorical accuracy for fairness. I am going to ask this: if opening the canopy do not give any clear advantage (as some of the exploiters claims), then why open it?
P.S. I don’t need an actual answer to that question.

Absolutely no reason to. After the sound rework, an open canopy will put you at a disadvantage.

What if they turn off the game sound?

God save them.
