One-Tank, One-Death Quitters is a Serious Problem

As the title says, players that bring in only 1 tank and quit after dying are a cancer to gameplay. Within the first 20 or 30 seconds of a match and over 1/3rd of your team has already quit.

Something needs to be done. The game needs to punish players that only bring in 1 vehicle and quit immediately after dying, leaving the team to face 2x to 3x more enemy tanks. Note, players that respawn with a Backup should NOT be punished as they are trying to help the team win.

You can check players’ lineups by hovering over the username, and see how many players bring only 1 tank into the match.

Game mode: Ground RB.

The problem is, that would kill tank premium sales instantly.

A possibility is removing the concept of backups entirely. They don’t really serve any purpose outside of pushing GE sales for backup purchases. I could get behind their removal so people can just spawn again as long as they have the points.

Wouldnt change anything.

Because all they would do instead is respawn a second time and then just J out or drive into the middle of the map drawing fire onto themselves until they are killed.

What is needed is an incentive to stay, like actually making the rewards worth respawning, let alone fixing the fundemenal issues that make people want to quit, like bad balance, bad maps, etc etc.

Though ive had a number of matches where Ive respawned, been instantly spawn killed and then quit, and I was debating just quitting after said first death anyway because I knew that would happen.

There are 3 solutions for players in regards to this change if it were implemented:

  • Bring backups (which premium vehicles come with) to use until you research another vehicle to bring in the lineup.
  • Incentive to buy 2 premiums so this rule wouldn’t apply to you, more money for the Snail.
  • Bring a lower-tiered vehicle despite it not being as high of a BR but you could manage to use.

Past that I don’t care, because 1-spawn quitters are a cancer to gameplay value.

Maps don’t worth it, profit don’t worth it, team don’t worth it.

And you never punish players who has done nothing wrong, and players who pays lol

But they did do something wrong, bringing only 1 vehicle and quitting in less than 1 minute into a match, leaving the team at a serious disadvantage. I have been playing for many years, and this issue has been largely ignored yet I have been on teams that lost due to these 1-death quitters who only bring 1 vehicle.

Players who have 2 or more vehicles would face the current Crew Lock system but not the 1-vehicle players.

You cannot punish players for playing the game as game allows it.

Game allows one vehicle lineups. Game allows reserve vehicles with plane/heli combo. In fact game allows any lineup player can possibly think of.

What if player bring three vehicles and all three are SPAA? Game allows it.

I don’t call a strategy which is encouraged by the game’s profit system and at the same time leading to more fun wrong

And at the same time not rule breaking

Does our game ever encouraged cooperation?
Does winning matter after that profit change reducing winner profit and increasing loser profit?

And wallet warrior skills lol

Guess what, nobody cares. Just do a new match with 1 tank left, no losses if not reduced time loss in prev match

My best Brit 8.7 Brrrrrrrt lineup lol

I’m already punished for one death leaving.
One flaw of events that’s been a flaw since they were introduced… there’s no reason to stick around if you won’t get tasks done.

Unlike match rewards that are based on time as well as your activities, event rewards aren’t and never were.
So during an event for a particularly great light tank, one death leaving on bad matches occurs because people are trying to get score rather than research points and silver lions.

The solution really is to apply activity bonuses to events.
So if you’re in a match and get high activity, you get a multiplier added to your score.

Lets hope they add that soon

You make silver/xp booster almost useless and people would camp more near spawn just get high activity.

What? That’s not how that works, and War Thunder already has that feature for RP & SL.

I too enjoy quitting at first death if I don’t feel like team itself worths any real effort despite having a full line.

They should at least balance teams on total lineup sizes, the amount of total vehicles that both teams can spawn should be equal within a certain number like ±5, this is such a basic match making mechanic that should have been implemented once the game got popular enough.

Also the fact that there is still no BR match making system is absurd, you can have a team with almost all +1 br vehicles facing one with just a few, even games like wows and wot had tier balancing systems from day one, this should have been a day one mechanic at least for air rb but we still somehow dont have it…

Choosing to play more effectively and efficiently isn’t cancer, the reason what makes people leave is real “cancer” and that reason is “Gaijin” itself.

  1. Bad maps (same 3-4 maps over and over again, disliked maps every 2nd 3rd match)
  2. Constant uptiers
  3. Not/god knows how working mechanics
  4. CAS
  5. Reward system
  6. Repair/ammo replenish costs

All this makes people leaving, all this is as you called “cancer” not players who are trying to have fun.

  1. Agree, same maps are boring
  2. Depend the verhicle you are playing
  3. New players in premium verhicle/planes/boats in mid and top tier
  4. No comment
  5. You don’t expect playing mid and top tier is getting the same reward as premium account
  6. You don’t expect the same repair and ammo cost for all low and top tier verhicles/planes/boats.

You forgot teammates that refuse to learn the game because I see players thinking WT is like WoT that every tank would deal damage. I see 3.0 ground verhicles in 6.7 battles in line up with only one 6.7 verhicle (not premium).

This.
I’ll be honest. I also do one-death leaving, but would you blame me if i play Japan or Italy, while playing against Ru, De and Sweden as a team?
While also playing on a CQC map, which are 90% of the maps today?

Nations like France, Italy or Japan don’t get armour at almost every br. Playing on a CQC map, for which there vehicles were not designed to be add, while playing against the most undertiered vehicles, is far from fun.

Most maps are utterly trash and not fun, especially when playing against the previous mentioned nations. The extremely low reward modifiers also don’t help this issue.

My sugestion is, change the match making system, so all one death quit gamers will be only in one side of the team, so other players wouldn’t be punished for there stupidy of play. And let them get only normal teams when they doesn’t quit after one death for 5 matches, but put them again into such teams after the 2nd one death leaving match.
