It is sad that only way to get it fixed is to abuse as much as possible to make other players as miserable as possible. Well what can we expect in game where main focus is grind and gameplay is second class citizen.
I can’t believe there is so much fuss about ODL when so many players are dead and gone after only a few minutes into the game anyway. Who cares when they are chucked out? The teams are only level for a very brief time anyway.
As someone, who hates CAS element in GRB I understand those people. They would like to play full battles with focus on fighting till the end but they are as rare as battles without CAS. Both issue share same cause - lack of game modes. Gaijin just put all people in same queue and does not care what is their goal. There are people who would like to play long format EC for GRB, there are people who would like to have competitive mode, there are people who would like to have TO mode and then there are people who like short format combined battles like we have now but gaijin decided to put them all together which only creates frustration. But as long as people buy stuff gaijin will do nothing about it and we can only complain about it here on the forum which is same as complaining into void. For some complaining on forum can be some sort of relief of frustration.
I think those of us on here who see things the way that we do need to stick together more and support each other as much as possible.I know its only a game but why should we had its future to a bunch of childish clowns ,especially when we have invested so much time and in many cases, money.
And apart from more game modes this game also need more selections what maps you do not want to see. For me personally maps like Red Desert or Field of Poland or Domination #2 on Tunisia (other variations of Tunisia are good) are just so boring. I always ask myself if I should just spawn, rush cap, die as soon as possible and move on to next battle or if I should even bother playing as it can takes ages to get killed as sometimes I pick a point and all enemy team is on other side of the map. So this is another thing where I understand why people do not bother to play on maps they do not like. It is much easier just to go want some 10 minutes video than wasting time on map you do not enjoy.
The game is designed to be as frustrating as possible, bad map design plays a huge role in one death leaving.
The maps are deliberately kept bad as to keep the player angry and frustrated, frustration leads to anger and anger leads to impulsive actions, which then leads to sale of premium accounts and vehicles. It’s honestly disgusting. Gaijin will never address ODL (since it’s not against any rules anyway nor should they) but it plays in their favor, the shorter the matches are the less the average player can grind, thus retaining them in the game for longer and increasing the chances of premium sales.
The community and player base deserves better, I’m surprised nobody has ever brought this up before, we need more maps bigger maps for top tier, game modes, more QoL features if think they can get away with it forever.
Only thing I do not agree is bigger maps for high tier. I feel like medium sized maps(for example domination #1 on Tunisia) are perfect for current game mode. Big maps is something I would not mind to play in EC mode as in current mode those maps feel empty and boring. Big maps need more objectives to capture to make game more dynamic and not same 3 objectives just put much far away so you are less motivated to move around as driving 2km through empty space where is little to no chance to find someone is just really bad motivator. Also on lots of those big maps there is pretty high chance to get sniped by someone so even less motivation to move at all. And you can even see it in battles on minimap that almost nobody is moving between points. They pick the point and stick on it until most of enemy team leaves battle. Also big maps require more people. 8v8 games on Red Desert is not worth spawning in at all.
The game doesn’t need big maps, it needs better maps. Currently, big maps do not work well with the current gameplay at all, for the reasons you described. They just devolve into “drive for 30 secs then camp.”
The map design does not allow for more dynamic gameplay, currently they are too open, and also too restrictive.
It is funny how they have no consequences, but like in one of my previous games, if I use 4 vehicles, but don’t spawn my SPAA at the end, I get penalised and the SPAA is crew locked. I had half a mind to take out the SPAA, but that wont help future games with removing a tool. IT DOESN’T MAKE SENSE!!
There should be encouragement to stick around and fight until the match ends. Maybe some kind of reward multiplier as the match progresses or bonus rewards to encourage the last remaining players on the losing team to keep playing instead of throwing in the towel.

Is not the players fault that they dont want to play shit maps/mods with an unbalanced matchmaking. You see US+CCCP in same team is auto lose and no point in even trying.
But the overwhelming majority of ODLs leave for just one reason: They died in the one buyed premium and had no other vehicles matching that BR…
Not entirely true. I see lots of 1DL that aren’t in a premium tank.

I forgot to mention, these are my observations, I’m not Mr. Stats, nor do I have a crystal ball for BRs and game modes I don’t touch.
I also leave a match early, not necessarily at the first death, but if I am traveling with world war tanks and am taken out of the game twice by vehicles that were developed decades later and have modern armament, are faster and are virtually invulnerable, then it’s over for me too.
Yesterday I had a Ratel 20 standing crosswise in front of me at 600m and bounced off the passenger door with a Sturmtiger and Pzgr 43, hit indicator, no damage with its 10mm armor. And was then immediately a victim of its Milan missile.
“Balance” bullshit at it’s best and I’m out.
I tried getting language friendly messaging added for ratting out spawn campers and flankers, but that went nowhere. It’s almost as if the devs do not want people playing as a team.
Why do you think people from countries that neither speak the same language nor use the same character set when writing are on the same team?
Because Gaijin doesn’t give a shit about team play.
The matchmaker should evaluate the keyboard settings for teambuilding.

Because Gaijin forms teams and also talks about team play itself. Unfortunately, these are just declarations of intent from a time when the game came onto the market. Just like the alleged historical accuracy, this urgently needs to be revised so that more people are not recruited under false pretenses and then disappointed.
