One Spawn Quitters

Can confirm if you have a 4 person squad of competent players, it can outweigh the NPC teammates throwing matches.

I absolutely hate it when your team is down to 6 people after the first 5 minutes. Then again, I understand it too. Personally I bring a full lineup, but I do quit early if it’s obvious we’re not going to get that win.

For instance the enemy has 3 caps, and we don’t have enough coordinated people to make a push for it - usually means getting spawncamped isn’t too far away in the future, so why bother feeding the enemy team? Might as well get it over with and go play the next battle.

It is what it is…

or maybe when u see germany+sweeden+usa stacked in enemy team at br+10 is auto return to garage for me, they just rush spawnkill everything.

I don’t go that far, besides at 10.3 (playing UK) it’s not too bad. 11.7 on the other hand is incredibly sweaty.

no ones going to play a tech tree where all the tanks have the same armor.

I bring up this issue every year for the past 6+ years and Gaijin doesn’t want to hear it. The only two things that Gaijin cares about: revenue and low queue time. They have no interest what-so-ever in creating a fair or balanced game … or this problem would have been addressed 8 - 10 years ago.

This system they added to give XP bonuses for 3/6/9 kills isn’t the solution like they thought it would be. Players that quit are only going to respond to negative consequences.

Crew lock is a useless mechanic unless they make it a global crew lock. The solution to the problem is extremely simple: leaving a match early more than twice per 24 hours incurs compounding XP penalties. This is not a new concept and games like Overwatch have virtually no quitters because of it.

If you queue, you have to play or suffer consequences. Every single match I play, there is at least 50% of one team gone within 4 minutes of the match starting, which is why the game turns into a steamroll almost every single game.

There’s lots of people that have multiple kills and multiple deaths within 4 minutes. I left a battle after killing 4 tanks within the first couple minutes and was crew locked.

Why should I be punished for a ODL despite doing more than 90% of the rest of the team?

“Punishing” players will only further kill the game and reduce player count. Crew lock imho should be completely removed.

If what you proposed was implemented a significant portion of the player base will simply log off and uninstall.

I find it annoying when my team gets steam rolled, ive played my line up and im down to my last which is generally SPAA if enemy has not gone into the air, well i cant do alot with it and have to play it, but i end up just sat there waiting for aircraft that dont turn up. Some say you can scout snd repair. No thank you i would rather surrender. So that gives me an idea.

How about a voting system in team that if your being steam rolled, someone can initiate a vote of surrender, if say 3 vote yes your allowed to leave with out crew lock

If what you proposed was implemented a significant portion of the player base will simply log off and uninstall.

Good riddance then: there’s zero competitive gameplay right now because of the quitters.

I’ve stopped thinking about what’s going on in other people’s heads. I look at what I can do and what I can improve. I’m happy about everyone who stays in the fight as long as they can justify it. I myself have worked on my survivability and am down to 2 tanks per battle. In intense battles it can sometimes be 5. The SilverLions are not an issue for me.
If things are going badly and my own team is more concerned with pushing each other around in their own spawn at the start, I don’t hesitate for long.
If someone feels compelled to bully my ASU right at the spawn, I now leave battles right at the start.

It’s still amazing to me that this is being justified so long later.

Like, your time is important to you, you play this game and screw over your team with no regard to their time or effort and it just blows my mind.

People who one death leave are the same as people who team kill or cheat. It’s the same mentality.

Lol, every time i see a ASU at spawnbthere cutting everyone up 😆

Many players dont think let the light tanks go first, they do scout sometimes

That’s taking an issue and then taking it a bit far, and then a bit further, and then waaaaaaaay out there. That’s like saying people who don’t play the objective have that same mentality. Or people who just don’t want to bother improving at the game have that same mentality.

Plenty of ODL for me today. Trying to play Italy at a new BR and failing miserably. I never felt I was part of the game or the team in anyway or that the vehicles I had fitted half the maps. One instance the new M26A1 was so slow the game was nearly over before I arrived, fired my one and only side shot at a T44 from 20 feet, watched it bounce and then I died. Was I going to redeploy in my 3MPH T26 a second time? No. Plenty of early departures today and no offence meant to my teammates who were rarely to be seen anyway.

Exactly. Sometimes it just doesn’t make sense to waste time on something that has a known outcome already.

I admire good teamwork on the rare occasion there is any. I appreciate noble gestures such as repair or getting a tow.I know deep down we all play as loners and the end game stats relect that.I wouldn’t confuse the two.

You don’t think that’s a bit of a reach? People sitting in a match and getting kills are much more helpful then someone who leaves after one death.

Look how detrimental these people are, they encourage more one death leavers.

That is assuming a) they get kills, and b) getting the kills makes any difference to the match outcome. If half the team is driving around an SPAA after 2 minutes? I’ll be out when I die. Because the outcome of that match is now pretty inevitably known. There is no winning that, and I’d rather leave and go play a fresh match.

After all, you’re not paying me for my time, so I get to decide how I spend that time. If you don’t like that, well, that’s tough titty :)

Oh, you play games to get paid? Why shouldn’t I TK? Or cheat? I’m not being paid to play the game? Shouldn’t I just do whateves?

This is a team game, we are playing as a team and the only reason one death leaving isn’t punished is because snailsoft makes money off it.

If your fine with this gameplay, that’s on you but your screwing over team mates and wasting their time.

It’s the same reason they don’t use historical information and instead balance stuff like with the abrams DU lower plates. It benefits them
