My current lineup consist on stock tanks. I have to deal with reactive armor using heatfs, no apdfsds, no laser, no parts, stock repairs will take 40 seconds and in some cases its useless as they wont fix you cannon. Last 10 matches were 9 full uptiers.
I WILL ODL, if in any future I can’t ODL in a scenario like this, my lineup will be only 1 tank, so even if I get a nice match, I won’t spawn again and my team will have to deal with that.
You don’t like that? Join me and start asking gaijin buff stock tanks, give them rangefinders, APDFSDS, parts.
About that. What was their idiotic response? “Should we give everybody a free Abrams?” Truth hurts.
welcome to the stock tank grind, is better to pick the stock tank, rush cap do something and die, repeat and repeat is faster than staying 20 minutes in a game. When you get maps with shit mods like domination and why even play more than 1 tank.
There is a long way between a free abrams and having decent ammo, rangefinder, parts. Heatfs is useless against reactive armor. What I’m supposed to do? Rush cap die?
Yup, just had 2 more matches where enemy team quit within the first 5 mins and it was a stomp.
The next one we had the advantage and people still started one death leaving within the first 5 minutes. We went from winning to getting stomped.
We were VS the US the first time and we fought them the second time.
Same for me today … Match was in our pocket after 8min. All caps blue and players moved on to the spawnarea to prevent enemies to get near the caps.
In this moment everything went fubar. 6 players got killed and they left after one death. From one moment to the other the enemy had an big advantage and we lost the match.
Forcing you to use HEATFS was intentional. They want you to buy Golden Eagles so you can unlock modules faster. APFSDS used to be the stock round.
This is an old topic that’s been around since before the game came out of beta.
That’s what I do. Winning literally means nothing to me.
If I die late after high kd, 50% of time my team is bad so no point, no extra reward on losing side. Otherwise if team winning, we have no spaa (and the reward sucks so don’t want to play either) so bye
One death leaving is a symptom of a lot of Gaijin caused problems.
Spawn camping, trash maps, and not discouraging it in the first place. Either add something like mentioned above, full repair cost on J’d out vehicle, no match rewards for leaving before using the remaining SP, along with a requirement to have a minimum 2 vehicles in the line up.
So it’s the snail fault if I odl due the lack of apdfsds.
I agree to the extent that Gaijin’s map design is ruining the fun of respawning and finishing the fight because of how they can’t stop enabling spawn camping and making generally unfun maps as often as not. Do not agree that they should punish players for playing the way they want to play. As I said before, you are not required to play well, cooperate, try to win, or be friendly. Just because someone is doing well enough that they could respawn and keep trying to help their team, doesn’t mean that they should be forced to when they’re no longer interested in doing so.
Consider games like Team Fortress 2 where you are free to disconnect whenever you want with no guarantee that your team will get a replacement that they need when they need it. People aren’t complaining about players dropping out of that game because respawning and giving it another go is fun and there’s always a way to turn it around and feel like you got a win out of it. War Thunder punishes you harder and harder the more times you need to respawn by reducing the space your team controls, reducing the number of teammates you have, increasing the SP of the enemy while reducing your own, charging you for repairs, giving the enemy CAS, and forcing you to give up your location by standing on cap points to turn the match around without any support.
It’s not that ODL’s always want to farm just 1 vehicle and leave, rather it just doesn’t make sense to put good effort after bad games.
A punishment should only be implemented after the other changes
The more that leave, and the earlier they do it, bring about a loss of map control faster
It’s not their job to win, they owe you nothing.
What is the purpose of going into the battle where the main objective is to win?
There are more objectives than to win…
- Win
- Complete daily tasks
- Grind event points
- Farm SL
- Spade/Unlock vehicles
- Have fun
I can be getting a lot out of ODL matches even if you might feel you’re being shorted. In an ideal world, we would all work together to make this as fun for everyone as possible, but in practice you and everyone else would sell my soul to Gaijin for 5 GE. We aren’t friends. That’s not a bad thing, it’s just true, so don’t get upset if your team doesn’t care if you’re having a good time.
You forgot:
- Pushing statistics
- Getting kills at all cost
- Abuse game mechanics to get kills / more kills
As long as the majority of players do not realize that wt is more or less just a plain shooter with grinding goals and everything in this game is designed to cost time or money (in order to encourage players to spend money), nothing will change within the game if players don’t vote with their wallet…
Yes, sir, you’ve got it 100%.
The worst thing is when seeing someone complaining about some premiums being OP or whatever, you look up their profile and see that they have each and every premium vehicle they’re complaining about.
They simply don’t realize that by buying premiums, they’re actually encouraging Gaijin to put even more questionable stuff in the game, since it’s obvious those things will sell like it’s free.
… but in practice you and everyone else would sell my soul to Gaijin for 5 GE
After 40 years on planet earth I wouldn’t sell my soul for 5GE. Not even a 10.000 GE.
Money and those GE got another meaning to me then to 90% of humanity. Sounds arrogant but that is my truth, experience or perception. Call it what you want. Your perception, experience or truth can be something different and it is ok for me.
Maybe that was too obtuse of an analogy, the point I’m making is that teamwork is a dead concept in this game outside of squadrons.
War Thunder is like a grand staircase, upon which ride several dozen pianos which have been pushed down that staircase. Rarely, and entirely at the mercy of random chance, harmony might be heard amongst the chaos, but it is such an exception to the rule it may as well not exist at all.
