One Spawn Quitters

You are clearly bothered how others play the game. That situation wont change as Gaijin doesn’t want it to change. Harsher punishments in terms of longer/different crew lock would mean less players queue which will affect queue time. So that wont change. Forcing players to use more than one vehicle also wont change because it might affect selling of premium vehicles. So what remains. You getting bothered of how others play the game.

I have no idea what I said for you to interpret it in a way that could have led to you coming up with that as a response.

So you want to change all others which are not good enough according to you while I don’t care and I am deadset on contrarianism. Nice logic.

It exists for leaving a match under the timer of ten (correct?) minutes. 1DL is usually a subset of that.

Take a chill pill, buddy. If you don’t have one, take one of those chill strips, you put it on your tongue, it dissolves. Chill.

You’re reading intent into my words because the thread so far has been pretty combative. I’m not looking to “validate” anything. I don’t have a personal stake in Gaijin’s business decision. I disagree with some, agree with others, and am neutral towards most. This is not about validation, it is about analysis.

For example:

You are reading way too much into my comment, and most of it is incorrect. I don’t think there is a problem with queue times - outside of sim battles, that is. Manifestly, that isn’t true: I rarely have to wait more than ten seconds for a match when playing alone.

This isn’t about my own personal opinion on queue times. It’s (what I think is) Gaijin’s opinion.

It is widely acknowledged that the best feature of an MMO is a zero-second matchmaker. People are impatient, and single player games have gotten them used to being able to click “play” and just get into things. This means that MMOs always place a LOT of emphasis on keeping wait times short. Those that do not, generally die out after a while.

Structurally, you cannot play this game without other people. If the people with the lowest attention span leave, the queue lengthens, and then the next people to get fed up will leave, which will lengthen the queue even more… and so goes the spiral.

This is the nightmare scenario of every MMO, and they go to great lengths to make sure it doesn’t happen to them. This is completely standard industry practice.

You cannot understand Gaijin’s reasoning if you do not keep this firmly in mind. It’s why they waited so long to decompress a few BRs at a time. They literally said so themselves when commenting about BR compression in the past.

Everything about this game is designed to keep you logging in, to keep you engaged not just regularly, but daily. The battle pass. The login rewards. The “FOMO” vehicles and events. The more people there are, the shorter the queues.

1DL is no different. If you spend three minutes into a game, die, and then get into another game, you’re queueing up for a second match that you otherwise wouldn’t have been in. Meanwhile, the former match is still going on without you. Hence, lower queue times.

Now, to be absolutely clear: I DON’T believe War Thunder queue times would suffer, if this was no longer the case, they are exceptionally low as it is. But then again, it’s easy for me to say. My job isn’t on the line if it goes wrong.

Until you address the issue that the game actively allows people to 1DL, you will never fix this issue. No matter how many times you repeat that it’s bad - which I agree with you on - this is an element of Gaijin’s decision making that would need to change, for the issue to be addressed.

The reason is that You want to push Your way of playing to others trying to portray it as ‘the only sensible way of playing’. If You want to have fun/win then play in a squad of 4. People will always 1DL as everyone have their own sense of ‘fun’ and they won’t waste their time on something that is not giving them the ‘fun’.

My notification says you did… as does the screenshot below. Did you respond to the wrong person by mistake, clicking on me instead of someone else? Or was it something else?

You’re the one coining the business model, and I’m absolutely stating that I doubt that you have any comprehension of the business model, nor the impacts of any changes to it in terms of the queuetime or the sales of premiums.

Yes, really takes an expert in the field to see how an impossible grind leads to people buying premium time and the grind still remains impossible that it leads to them buying premium vehicles at top tier which still leaves an impossible grind regardless, but it’s the best you can do before throwing your money into the pit with the conversion.

It exists for leaving a match under the timer of ten (correct?) minutes. 1DL is usually a subset of that.

No, if you bring one vehicle you do not get crew lock.

If You can’t keep up with Your own posts, that is not my issue.

I’m well up there, and I know what you’re saying, isn’t what I said… So you can stop trying to put words in my mouth, on my behalf.

-Edit-

Me wanting people to actually play the match isn’t me wanting to have fun or win, it’s about expecting others to actually goddamn try…

The urge to paint my position out as anything about my stats or care for the match is dumb, because I merely want those who are queueing to still want to play the match they get rather than deciding because it’s a winter map, they want to bail, or a one point match, to bail, or a map that is ‘big’, to bail…

You’re not psychic and excusing the action is just dumb because it leads to more, thinking they are psychic and constantly picking and choosing what they play on the premise of ‘It’s a game, it should be fun’ and all that nonsense.

As well as You don’t remember Your own words.

Keep spaming the topic with nonsense, maybe it will entertain someone, for me is just boring. People will 1DL as long as game won’t change as everyone likes/dislakes something.

I will 1DL as I sometimes just want to play particular vechicle and not the whole line-up as this is what brings me joy. If I would like to win all games, I would just play in 4 ppl squad as it would guarantee me 100% W/R.

At the end of day. Punishing players for 1DL doesnt change much. If you want to leave, then you are going to leave either way. Not too mention the obvious loopholes to avoid any kind of punishment. Like spawning in a second tank and then J-ing out. Technically not 1DL.

There are fundamental issues with GRB, that cause 1DL, I personally believe that in 80% of cases 1DL is a symptom of problems that could actually be fixed. Like Spawn killing from match start, due to bad map design or heli spawns at match start. But there are also other issues. Top tier tanks take a stupid amount of time to farm. I’ve just gotten to 11.3. I have exactly 1x 11.3 tank. I could and do bring 10.3 tank as back-up, but im going to have a hard time either way. My other choice is to bring CAS or CAP, but the spawn costs for those are really wierd. Improvements there mean I could bring something better more consistantly.

So thats:

  • Improve map design to prevent spawn to spawn kills
  • Remove Heli spawn from match start
  • Adjust SP costs for CAP jets / Improve AAMs for Helis to allow them to be used for CAP
  • Rework top tier RP costs to make it easier to get more vehicles in the next bracket.

That’s four that comes to mind and all four would definetly result in less 1DLs. Im sure many others can be thought of. Whilst there are so many problems with GRB, especially so many actually fixable, punishing players is never going to fix anything and is basically worthless to consider at this moment in time.

nyahahaha. I think anyone will know the outcome. LMAO

People who leave after 1 death (other than premium players) typically do so because they’re against Russia, and when you’re at top tier and you see 6 BVMs zipping around at light speed while also bouncing everything and locking down every key spot and angles the map, there’s no point in trying.

At least now you don’t lose so many SL while you get fed to the Russian teams, so yay?

I wonder how many of these ODL are Cap & Fly players that tried to cap and died, so on to the next match to try again?

The problem I see is this.

The whole game is based on performance of vehicles when players use them.

So is this performance based on the fun you have or the kills/wins?

I agree everyone has their own fun, some are super casual, some are deeply involved. But the game is based on win/loss and kills/interactions so there is an expectation that people should at least try or else stats that denote position/modifiers is a huge lie.

There is no solution as it IS about individuals. And currently the majority of these individuals want to lineup like the Napoleonic War, head for one cap only, press W or forwards and die to one actual player who realised you don’t have to be so insanely boring.

When you realise you aren’t getting anything remotely cerebral out of this game you move on, that’s why in my final days I just grab a PvE Air game or two and good riddance to the rest. Hope you all enjoy the ever shrinking maps and teams of lemmings to farm (or force you to take on a whole enemy team essentially solo; which I am sure some try hards love so they can solo-leet it).

Why would You do that?

Why would I bother to put up with unfair and hypocritical double standards? They can play around with those 3 German tanks like with any other, while most of the community and myself are being denied this previously obtainable content.

I literally cannot play most vehicles anymore now because I may run into one of those 3 german tanks, Gaijin themselves do not want me to play.

You can’t play most of the vechicles because You meet 3 german tanks that can be killed as any other?

Skill issue + griefing. I hope any gamemaster will see Your comment and ban You for that.

No, because they cannot be obtained like any other, despite that having been the case before.

Gaijin are the ones who should face consequences, for that despicable disrespect towards German Mains and Germany.
