This its perfect.
As stated above, if it becomes clear that the punishment is worse than staying, I doubt anyone would stick with this tactic.

GJ has already acknowledged there is a ODL issue by introducing crew lock. Applying even greater punishment would also punish server problems, ping issues and connection problems. People would stop playing.
The only solution is fix issues with the game, which in reality, are not a pressing issue for GJ as people continue to play (economics 101).
I play for fun, win or lose, I don’t give a rats ass about. Generating SL is still not an issue for even average players so really, if you want a competitive game with real team effort, get off the computer, join a sport and play to win there.
If you just play for fun as you say, why not play custom? winning the match gives much more RP, your answer is at least innocent.
No what would happen insteas is people finding loopholes. Such as spawning in a second tank snd zerg rushing to the middle of map until they are killed. No longer 1DL
I would pay to see. Since all the work the gaijin did didn’t solve anything
Imagine spawning more than twice LMAO
Nope I would just alt f4 instead
Yes you did. Deal with it
If you want people to give the best, why you dont play tournaments?
This is a game, not a job.
To not have had a situation that arose that required me to do this for at least 6 months, I’d suggest you actually have a problem with your install, your settings, or your hardware…
You will be surprised how low 1DL (ODL confuses me as 0DL exists too) actually kicks off. Not to the same extent but swathes can bounce from a team very quickly even at rank 2 now.
People play but want to be somewhere else!
No it does not. Custom games don’t give any rewards.
The whole point is players are “barking at the wrong tree”. Players which ODL don’t break any official game rules while doing that. They only miss some extra game content while leaveing early. For those that extra content is bad thus they leave for others is irrelevant as they care only for victory so they stay.
So instead of trying to change players (which is mission impossible by definition) its better to try and make Gaijin to change game design. And here is the catch 22. Since they (Gaijin) wont change game design situation is turned against ODL players which play by all official game rules the same as other players do.
First time I have been called “innocent”. Lots of other thing but not that. Thanks!!! Have played for a few years now, basically researched most of my interests and have millions of SL. Players here run from “dead serious” to casual player. I am not a bug, but at least try my best when I do play. After years of play, I can usually tell when a battle is going south. Lemming trains to the CAP, whole team balled up together and 1/2 the team into second spawn in the first 5 minutes. Not a sure thing, but a good indicator that this isn’t going to go well for the “team”. When I am running a “GE Wager” yes, disappointed when we loose, but such is life. Have tons of GE Rewards not even used yet. Serious players should “Squad Up” or use Custom Games and invite like minded player to join. If WT wasn’t fun, I’d stop playing. Good luck trying to change peoples play style.
You may think that, but often matches have turned around at the last minute…
It’s not clear cut, and I’d rather rnot have a team of crystal ball gazers.
I’ve troubleshot it, it’s a WT problem.
I find a good portion of my matches, if someone complains to the enemy about how bad things are, we lose.
It doesn’t make them psychic, it makes it clear to the enemy that they have the upper hand.
I don’t fault you for your competitive spirit. Truly, I don’t.
But here’s the thing that makes such spirit entirely irrelevant in WT: Gaijin.
There is no true level of competitiveness in War Thunder because Gaijin has made it so.
Russian Bias.
Piss-Poor map design that makes spawn camping/sniping as easy as breathing.
The horrible BR compression.
Those top 3 issues alone take the concept of competition and throw it off the cliff. There are also other issues that affect the concept like FNGs buying their way into top tier, but now with those people getting back-ups - well, it’s not the most immediate point. I could write an essay on it all, but I just don’t care to. As WT is, it’s far too imbalanced and unenjoyable to even consider taking seriously in a competitive light, so taking such issue with ODLs is a waste of energy.
There are far bigger bones to pick with Gaijin.
Because it is. The game shouldn’t have the same spawning points for low and high BR games.
Poland is one of the examples. While players don’t shoot immediately at enemy spawn on 5.7 BR they do it almost instantly on 10.x BR as vehicles are speedy and can get into shooting position faster than players going from spawn to cover.
Another example is Mozdok Domination where I got killed approx 10 secs in a game from enemy spawn by vehicle using thermals.
Maps are the root of most issues because they are exactly the same for all BRs.
Maybe you’re actually unknowing about the design of the maps and the points I just raised…
Just because a spawn point is listed, doesn’t mean you have to use it, nor is it to be safe after a minute or 3…
Just because you die fast, doesn’t mean it’s actually the maps fault.
Actually its exactly the map design fault for both counts you listed.
Thats why there is game level designer department in every game company which tests maps/levels before those are released. Shooting from spawn to spawn is big NO for any game.
