Just finished an arcade ground battle in the 5.3-6.3 BR range (Ash River)
My Ostwind II killed a Ki-84 at the 5:56 timer.
A little later while fighting off intruder to our base an F4U-7 strafed me and destroyed my Ostwind.
I looked at battle log after battle it showed me the same player I had just shot down was the one who destroyed me. Time? 6:39.
In arcade how is it possible for a player to get shot down, jump back into the game, and then destroy my vehicle with ANOTHER PLANE in under 44 seconds?
That’s NUTS! I can’t believe it is possible to do that in a ground battle.
There needs to be changes to CAS. IMO, in ground arcade you should only be able to earn 1 CAS attack. Use it up, your stuck on the ground. Learning to use it wisely should be a part of the skill-set.
(As an aside this battle had another case where an m44 one-tapped a Tiger. That mutant does not belong at 4.0 BR. Should be 4.3, or even 4.7)
Your average SPAA players shoots at planes that are 5km away, the odds of the person(s) playing SPAA on your team all wait for them to be within 2km and in a straight line attack run to collect a free kill on them are extremely slim. Its a severe skill issue until players get their hands on radar guidance at 8.0+, CAS is brutal in WW2 BRs.
Team mates like this also make your job as SPAA 10x harder than it needs to be by not letting CAS feel safe to go into these attack runs, because they are shooting at them 10km before they even get close to the fight keeping them on their toes.
This thread is about realistic, arcade cas isnt really a big problem
Nothing in the original post or tags suggest “Realistic” or “RGB” so that is why I commented in this thread. Original post even talks about “new players” who are unlikely to jump into realistic right away.
That aside, I contend there IS a problem with CAS in arcade if a player can use up an earned air attack, then reappear in another plane, acquire the enemy that just killed them, and destroy that vehicle, all in under 45 seconds. Something seems “off” with that.
A larger screen can introduce a slight disadvantage in gameplay.
I initially shared your concerns when I first got the Samsung G9, but I later switched to a 42" ASUS OLED. While the issue still exists, it’s not as pronounced as it was with the G9.
The main challenge lies in the higher pixel density compared to resolutions like 1980 x 1080 or even 2140 x 1440p. This makes spotting tanks and planes at a distance more difficult. While the enhanced visual experience is impressive, the trade-off is a minor reduction in gameplay visibility.
That said, I prefer to play with maximum graphics settings and everything turned up. For me, enjoying the full visual fidelity of the game outweighs worrying about my K/D—I’d rather secure a win than focus solely on my stats.
