Oto BR is not based on it having 12 76mm darts.

That is not the Lvkv9040c being magically survivable, that is an idiot shooting the same spot over and over. He could have aimed for my driver and I would have died. That’s a bad player, and most 2S38 players are bad.

The 40mm Bofors L/70 is loaded via multiple shells at once, in a sort of magazine from an ammo carousel attached to the turret basket, seen here
Said carousel holds 48 rounds and is very easy to access by either the gunner or the commander. If a ZSU-57 can magically reload several shots at once, so can the CV9040s. Gaijin has artificially nerfed this vehicle for no particular reason, along with the Type 89.
Reloading is a relatively fast process, and is sped up even further by the troops. It is known, and trained, that the troops riding in the back in the 9040C variants can access the turret basket once the gate is lowered and reload the main gun, which is even faster. There is absolutely 0 reason for Gaijin to have made it function this way, likewise with the Type 89.
I was there when it was getting up-BR’d. The skilled players using it were doing the ambush/passive tactics against tanks.
Both on the same team and opposing team.
None went after aircraft cause the BR was already semi-screwed; so it went from 10.3 all the way to 11.3.
Yes, it went from 9.0 to 10.0/10.3 cause of its anti-air… but after that was cause players played it with a “rat” playstyle.
Otomagic have better post pen so its better AT platform, as all guns sub 75 mm have nerfed APFSDS spalling. As Otomagic is 76 mm, this limitation doesnt affect it.
76mm dart spalling is still trash
Okay, so if it known and trained. Prove it. That ends the discussion pretty easily. Then take it up with gaijin for a buff.
Also that’s literally the definition of survivable the you can absolutely see where the round comes out that internal I’m pretty sure would have sent a spall cone into the drivers area.
If that went through a t-series, dead. As long as the ammo carousel spall liner didnt save it. But as it stands I think if you put that many rounds into the back of the tank it should have kept you there. It’s not just the crew that matters. Even though your driver was hit just didn’t die and if it’s a server replay. Some of them certainly went exactly where they were supposed to. Your driver proves it. The hits when your tanks rare is angled completely straight line with him going in your turret. Put your turret. In the hull, put the hull.
I think the 2s38 is pretty annoying and should be raised. But let’s not pretend he’s walking away from that the same way you did. That dart that hit your driver would have taken 2 of his crew members.
Agree to disagree.
Edit: I watched your video again. Go watch it, you’re the definition of survivable. You’re saying he needed to snipe your driver, he hit your driver 2 different times.
Hstvl is armored all around with the same wunderwaffe metal they used on the abrams ufp. I had hstvls bounce and sponge the most retarded shit ever. No reason it should go down in BR, the 2s38 should go up
I don’t think it needs to go down. Give it what it’s supposed to have, keep it where it is or put it at 11.7
Done and done.
Yeah, the round should have more pen, and it should fire faster, correct? It’s also missing the HE-VT shell.
He REPEATEDLY shot my turret, after my crew were dead, and the back left corner panel of my 9040. Use your eyes.
Also I’ve literally watched 120mm APFSDS go through the entire side or front of a T-series tank and not done a single thing, failed to spall at all. Do not give me that garbage.
Wow another thread about a commonly talked about topic.
How is it better? It is slower than the HSTVL, and has less pen. In every HSTVL thread I see, half the people claim it is 10.3 worthy and unbelievably terrible, and others saying it is fine.
2S38 is easy to kill in my experience. I have only had issues with the fuel tank sometimes eating darts, but thats it.
Insults/sarcasm is great, seeing your driver hit twice to prove you wrong is better.
He did not hit my driver. Minor spalling may have hit the driver. His shots were off target and placed terribly. It is extremely easy to kill any IFV in the game from behind with an autocannon. You have got to be joking if you think that I survived ‘because of the 9040’s survivability!’
So then there was no damage to your driver?
Do you unironically believe that my driver can survive a direct hit from 57mm APFSDS?
Do you honestly believe that being hit by one of the smallest spall cones at high and top tier doesn’t count as a hit?
Had the same experience while playing my M1 Abrams lmao. The guy just hold down his left click and spent 25+ round harrasing me thru the smoke until i died. Lots of skill required for that.
Then start grinding other nations, that’s the player’s skill issue(yes gaijin fault for adding toptier especially tanks in general). 2S38 got nerfed. also the APFSDS has 0 spalling, against Leopard 2’s the front is safe exept driver, and from the side you have to hit the crew like it’s a double spalliner, it’s worse than the spalling of a tank with spalliners and a normal size shell
Yes. Its slower than EVERY mbt. Thus it can’t flank them and use it’s firerate to kill everyone from the sides.
And besides that, it’s situational vehicle - how can it be op?
T-80ud is better.
