the problem is the math works out
yk I take everything RazerVon sais with a handful of salt but there’s got to be a reason here
yk maybe the Asymetry in material helps the Penetrator go through more with the same energy but in that case the Strv 103s armor would be absolutely terrible as an effect which benefits from more Asymetry in the path of force would only increase there
huh weird the 30° doesn’t have that effect
I just had 15 flags in a second how is that possible ?
you’d assume it scales Linearly or logarithmically but if gaijind numbers are any real then it doesn’t
564 @0° then 549 @30° (corrected) and 652 @60° (corrected) this doesn’t make sense to me

I’m atcually thinking it’s a bot as to how on earth is someone be able to do that
alternatively Gaijins hamster was on breaktime
back to confusion ballistics
And for me time to do some fields around the GCR mainline :)

if at an armor angle the material is less hard to move out of the way resulting in less impact energy being required to penetrate the first bit than if it was flat and then again in the last bit comparing to if it was flat then I believe this effect should scale because even tho the angle is only marginally diffrent the effect would presist although less strong
but then the 30° has less Corrected pen so either the effect just doesn’t make a difference until idk 45° or it works completely differently
can recommend, much more chilling and no confusing physics required to back random ingame numbers
Shell normilisation is pretty big thing to miss out when explaining APFSDS performance at high angles
well that’s just a Kinetic penetrator, this should apply to all full hardness Penetrators if it’s true
Trainz route builder is pretty chill though I’m more worried that my fields will stick out like a thumb compared to the original builder but then again I am good at copying rather having my own style.

Better to have fields than grid squares lol
it does but not the same results, full solid rounds will often angle upwards following the armour sloping, long rod APFSDS angles downwards as it starts to perforate the plate, negating some of the angling.
goddamn bwnding forces
guess I’ve seen that before when I did archery
so wait just to understand it and spell it out for my Mechatronics technician brain
the arrow hits at an angle, let’s say 60°
the uneven force of the impact then essentially sends the effective foece at an angle of for example half of the impact angle and that makes the arrow bend to partially align with the force direction and this helpes it to start penetrating at a now slightly different angle as the original impact
then it penetrates
and when leaving the same effect applies again resulting in an S shaped hole
