Lockheed Martin are set to announce a new helicopter on the 13th of October. Looks to be a new UH-60 variant, possibly the famed Stealth Hawk/Ghost Hawk said to have been used for Operation Neptune Spear, the raid that got Osama Bin Laden, or a continuation of it.

Was too beautiful to be true
How was I so naive

I’m taking this.

Gear warning horn when?

So germany derailed yet another joint fighter jet program. How many times have they done this at this point?

Which one?

GCAP I think, or the other one

GCAP is UK, Japan and Italy. I believe they mean FCAS which is done by France and Germany

Tbh I’m just glad GCAP seems to be going well

Seems to be, that mockup they released gave very strong Ace Combat vibes, let’s hope they can shove a railgun in there somewhere.

Heh got reminded of some of my older pictures from 8 years ago, can’t believe the mustang is still missing it’s wing mount torpedos when there’s clear proof right here.

Oh so that’s it, the FCAS is completely dead yet? No big surprise tbh, this couldn’t have worked, the same way France in the eap program couldn’t have worked

DoA let’s be real. Literally no joint program with france and germany ever worked, maybe the jaguar I guess…? The fundamental issue is Germans are Atlanticists on a borderline fanatical level, something France really, really doesn’t like (got out of NATO and got their own Nuclear detterence etc etc) so it always leads to a pointless tug of war. And Germany has zero experience building indigenous modern fighters, but still wants to lead, which is comical. Anyway the same dynamics can be found within the EU which is why I personally believe it’s a worthless project on a death spiral (I also detest it’s neoliberal outlook on literally everything but that’s off topic)

The Alphajet also worked I guess, but on something like main combat fighters France and Germany will never be able to agree on requirements and design choices. As for eu, I don’t really share your view but that’s off-topic (yeah, even here lol, I don’t make the rules sorry) so let’s stick to debating hopeless programs

Jaguar was France + UK
Tornado included Germany, but tbf that was never a good plane

At least the Eurofighter exists?

Tonka slander will not be tolerated

just calling a spade a spade

tho on the subject of Germany; it made for a better strike aircraft than the F-104

An A-1 would be a better strike aircraft than an F-104
