The most insane HT supporter belike
The Maus is a 7.0 tank, it’s BR is only propped up on stilts thanks to repeated nerfing of everything that used to reliably take out early Cold War Russian tanks (APCR, HEAT, HEATFS, APDS, smaller APFSDS, HESH). The Maus was an unintentional beneficiary of those boneheaded whine-induced nerfs.
Undo those postpen nerfs and then watch all heavy armor plummet to where it belongs now that its fake “survivability” is removed. Taking a shot to the barrel or breech and having to repair constantly is not “survivability” - it’s just delaying the inevitable.
And for the record, here is where I think all the other late game heavies belong, assuming corrective rebuffs on postpen of all currently lackluster shell types:
Maus & E-100 7.0
IS-4M 7.0 (a 5.7-grade gun on a slightly better platform)
IS-3 6.7 (a 5.7-grade gun on a trolly but not that incredible platform)
T95 6.7 (305mm cast armor seems like a lot, until you experience being barrel-knocked half of every match, then bombed)
Tortoise 5.7 or 6.0, depending on if it ever gets missing APDS or not.
Ferdinand & Elefant 6.0-6.3 (200mm flat armor is only worth so much, regardless of how fast the gun reloads. Especially since the platform struggles to move and bring that gun to bear)
Black Prince 5.3 (even with the steering & slight reverse buffs, 152mm is only so much and it’s still not fast in the slightest)
Object 268 to 6.3 (even with optical rangefinder and overpressure meme HE, shell velocity is pitiful, mobility is fairly good but not THAT good, armor has notable gaps even a Panther 75 can pen, and finally everyone just shoots the barrel tip if they don’t know what you are)
Ho-Ri Prototype to 5.7 (150mm flat armor is not worth much on a platform that has no better chassis or engine than the 5.0 Chi-Ri II)
Ho-Ri Production to 6.7 (Japan needs a 6.7 piece of armor to go with its other excellent choices in that range, and a 225mm flat plate only matters so much with ammo postpen rebuffs)
KT105 & T29 7.3 (strong guns, decent armor, and both can actually move)
Target II (Practice) drops back to 6.3
Target II (Hard) stays as-is.
T32s stay as-is (because the HVAP the gun was designed to use actually does real damage)
T34 to 7.7 (a 453mm pen round that actually spalls well is no joke)
T-10A & IS-6 both stay 7.7 as they have too much mobility to go lower with how much armor they have.
IS-7 drops back to 8.0, because no stabilizer or even optical rangefinder in a BR range loaded with them both. Let alone thermals.
T-10M stays 8.3, 279 either 8.3 or 8.7. Feels much like a sidegrade to the T-10M and not an upgrade.
Somua SM stays as-is.
Surbaisse, Surblinde, and Foch stay as-is. These might even go up if they were given the other ammo types the M103 experimented with, as its the exact same cannon.
M103 stays as-is or possibly goes up to 8.0 now that the HEATFS actually does damage. It’s also missing an APDS round with 540mm pen.
Also, with all those ammo rebuffs, every single goddamn IFV and rat-tank go-kart gets punted up to 9.0+. Xxxx every single one of them. Not only do those not belong in the same league as late WW2/early postwar armor, but they also don’t belong in the early MBT era since they make glassy MBTs such as the STB-1, Leopard 1, and AMX-30 utterly worthless in their supposed mobility advantage.
This is why the community shouldn’t be in charge of vehicle balancing. The bias could be seen from space.

Tiger II H 1.0 BR lower than the T34?
Maus higher than the Tiger II 105???
Ho-Ri=T-34-85?
279 and 8.3??? Soumua at 8.0? How are they even comparable?
I can tell you are very biased towards Germany and Russia. This is why Gajin doesn’t listen to the community for BR changes.

Not once did I ever bounce any well aimed shot in T-10M.
If you face a Merkava or any of the armored cars in the T-10M you might as well J out.
my boy what are you talking about??? i had so much fun reading what you posted, first of all maus is 7.7 not 7.0 and its clear that you dont have 279. jeez its so funny “is3 at 6.7”… youre the perfect example of most try hard no skill insane forum cry baby heavy tank enjoyer
you ever faced a 279? probably not let me explain it to you, its basically a volumetric nightmare and it likes to bounce even shots that should 100% go trough, im saying this as a soviet main
Also, with all those ammo rebuffs, every single goddamn IFV and rat-tank go-kart gets punted up to 9.0+. Xxxx every single one of them.
dies in pbv 301 going from 2.3 to 9.0
dies in sdkfz234/2
dies in ikv 91 like its good but not 9.0 good
Eh, at least it would feed my wedge boi more heavies to apds to death.

Cheese wedge is interesting, lack of turret does hamper it though. You tend to die to fires a lot, and people always shoot the transmission.
Honestly I recommend shooting transmission then flanking, or burning it to death.
Even DM13 HEATFS one shots the 279, what are you guys talkin bout? HEATFS is effective against this but you say it should match with 3BM42-DM23 using MBTs.
The issue isn’t the 279 being 9.0 the issue is the entire 10.0 BR range still being 10.0 after decompression from 7.0-8.7.
As Gaijin noted recently in news they’re going to decompress ground. It’ll resolve most issues the BR range faces.
