That’s not going to change so long as USA retains such a large advantage in the aircraft selection. You either need to give russia their flanker or start thinking about banning the F-15A and/or the F-14A/B.
the whole problem with the MLD is the MTI mode if they just allowed it to be toggled it would be fair fight against F4
biggest counter measure against a F4S or F4J is just turning away as its PD only works in HDN mode
Being able to manually toggle MTI on would help make it more reliable when looking down, but I think that it physically needs background noise to function and can’t look up regardless. Sure they can turn away, but what do I care? They have two 24Rs and I have six sparrows. I can afford to miss a few, they can’t.
if your dying to a AIM-54A youll also be dying to the PATRIOT or HAWK so doesnt really matter

I routinely get kills with phoenixes when I take them out. You’re downplaying them. Especially in a mode where your opponents have outdated RWRs that don’t tell them the precise angle of the incoming threat, and masses of opponents are new to gen3 aircraft, much less facing off against gen4.

just about the players of this mode literally 40% of the players in this mode are complete noobs like day 1 just got game like a week a ago the rest
even the MLD has 6 way RWR there fine thats more than enough to dodge
and even then you’ll have MIG-29 9.13s which can out BVR the F14 if there good due to the infinte energy DL R27ER if launched right can compete with the F14
this mode should have just been altered to only use the preset planes and then give america the standard F4J as a nuke plane and ditch the F4E and fix the radar of the MIG-23 and its basically balanced and take away the 9L and if thats too much only allow the AIM-7E2 but only if win rate for russia is too low like winrates should be close to 50/50
also the MIG-29 9.13 is pretty equal to the F15A its really only op against the MIG-23MLD
as MIG-29 has better missiles in close range and BVR while F15A has better FM and better medium range missiles while being worse at BVR and close range knife fights with missiles like MIG-29s

Thought I was getting better, but I just died 15 times. Half the time I was killed by F4S 7Fs, as I can’t tell if someone is firing radar missiles at me. Half of it, im getting killed in manuverse.

People only tried sim for the rewards, lots stayed. The fact you relate that to the “tourism” of sim during events tells me you are a part of another major problem keeping people from staying in sim, the fact that the sim community cannot handle people outside the community playing sim. calling them tourists and belittling them is exactly why they are only tourists and not sim players, and why I left the sim community in its entirety.
you are saying the downside of giving pve better rewards is that people will be able to rush the bombers just like they are with pvp, but by actually playing the event. Is that not the goal?
sp only on landing does nothing to nuke planes but entirely destroys pve while barely hindering pvp. I survive much longer in pvp when me and my team win the furball, while i kill myself even attempting to dodge osas.
Making JUST THE SECONDARY BASES health take 3 med nukes does a number of things.
- it means one lone su24 or f4e cannot single handedly kill the first 2 levels of airfields.
- you would get greater rewards for nuking the airfield since they currently have 1/3rd the health of the actual damage the bomb is doing.
- The removal of bases would be more gradual, escalation 1 means maybe a fob or two goes down, escalation 2 means the forward fobs will quickly go down but the secondary bases will take a while. that would extend matches and keep everyone in the fight since the losing team doesn’t have so much more distance to travel, and the battlefield would stay over the frontlines instead of behind them on the losing side.
The nukes we are using are about 45% the size they should be, someone did the math ill see if I can find the post if you want. It took one 15kt bomb to raze Hiroshima, the 30kt bombs we are using are smaller than little boy. The “moderate” damage (what should effectively kill any truck in those convoys) of a 5kt bomb is a full kilometer, I dropped one on the back of a convoy and only killed 4 vehicles up it. this is according to nukemaps and they count moderate damage as a 5 psi overpressure. for reference google tells me a m777 155mm howitzer shell has an overpressure below 4 psi.
I want you to consider this: Imagine you are in the a-10c, putting in work like I usually do, you get 5 ground kills by being super crafty and using up all your ordinance, its taken you about 10 or 15 minutes to get that many (thats favorable btw) so you turn around and head home. Just then a base respawns an osa right underneath you and you get vaporized by it. You get zero sp, 15 minutes wasted, and you are now back at square one. That is incredibly frustrating. not to even mention the fact you are only carrying the equivalent score of ONE air kill.
if they implement sp only on landing it will change nothing about the people pvping instead of doing the event (they are doing it for score my guy), while actively hurting pve players even more. sure the people ignoring the event wont get nukes now, but neither will the people actually trying.
a much more unobtrusive solution that doesn’t hinder gameplay and give players what they wanted for years is
- on par rewards for pve and pvp so that players can choose their preference to gain sp
- more base health so games don’t end as quickly and teams can stay in the fight longer
- make the end requirement be all bases instead of just the main one. of you’re that concerned about people nuke rushing, as if you cant just spawn a fighter and intercept them.
yeah the RWR pinging 24/7 slowly makes me forget about it OSA and flakrads are like 85% of my deaths its really annoying dealing with them while also in a 3v1 as they cant be multipathed
if its that bad id just suggest ground striking
I just wish they would replace the rolands and osas with stinger wiesels and strelas already. Atleast those can be countered in some way other than just avoiding the area…

I just waiting an hour to get into a match. Aim9L kills a teammate twice because it didn’t pull its G’s on a head-on and went for a teammate. And then get removed to wait another hour in que. Thanks Gaijin, for always crying about potential que times you make some of the craziest que times I’ve had to wait for, for nothing.

This will most likely functionally remove nukes from the gamemode based upon using them. It wouldn’t feel good having a longer flight with several A2G and a couple A2A kills, only to die to an OP SPAA and lose out on being able to use a nuke.
Queue in for the lower bracket. Only use planes 11.3 or 11.7 and lower. If you go in with 0 personal planes and use the default ones you will get a queue pretty much instantly.
Next advice is to grind US FIRST, and RU second. All of the US queues are shorter on the first day of each new task.
Same message to you. If you want to complete both, work on the US first. Stop trying to queue into 12.0+ for US, at least until AFTER you have completed the US task.
There is effectively 0 queue for the lower/default bracket for the US, you have no reason not to be able to complete both if you want both vehicles. I have been able to complete both side’s tasks on the first day, in 1 or 2 matches each. Ezpz.

I think for the event itself the SP system is fine. However since this is confirmed to be a recurring gamemode, a major change to SP needs to be done, because right now its the meta to rush into the furball at the center, get as many kills as possible, die, and repeat
This is obviously not a super engaging, varied, and interesting gameplay loop that this game mode can very feasibly acheive

Try setting your RWR to 75% or 80%. I would advise NOT setting it lower than this, but between 75% and 85% has been working great for me today. FAR less useless pings, only pings when something is actually locking and/or launching on me.
90% was barely different from 100%, still pinging almost nonstop. 75%-85% seems to be a fairly ideal range for this event.

You can adjust the sensitivity of your RWR in the options. I’m going to be testing various %'s today. Hopefully to at least filter out the Patriot’s and S-300’s when I am only near the frontline:
