Gave me an idea. This would be very asymmetrical, but cool. Either team coming from the ocean has been an unexplored idea (at least since the original ARB maps, anyways)

This map feel more like the “arcade” version of NE due to how small the map is. There’s no need to bring more than mininum fuel for most activities. 256x256 felt action-packed but still spacious to need fuel. Looking forward to the new map you guys create next update.
This is roughly what the map would be if they made it 256x256km like the other NE map, but centered it on Hong Kong:
I think its real interesting, as effectively a 50/50 land and sea map. Could run the map either with each side having 50/50 splits, or doing attack/defense naval vs land.
Either way, the current version of the map is way too small, and i think they flubbed the naval combat aspect of it imo, which was what myself and some others I know were most excited about. Seeing as both sides ships are perpetually hiding behind islands, and said islands are bristling with SAM sites and airfields, sea-skimmers are near worthless. They said they wanted to reduce the effectiveness of ramjet AShM’s, and then gave us a “naval” map whete ramjet AShM’s were the only viable tool to sink any ship…
Overall a huge miss imo. The map is 4x smaller than the normal NE map, and it just doesnt work and is horribly unfun to play. If they want this map to work, a resized version to 256x256km is required, and more work is needed on the naval warfare component of the gameplay. Looks nice though.
This new map really makes you realize how terrible the naval rewards are.
It feels quite pointless to have so many ships out there but have no real reward for doing anything in that aspect. It takes pretty long to destroy a USS California, like 2 or 3 sorties requiring a high-altitude or close range launch, and at the end of it all, you get a reward equivalent to destroying a single ground target. In that time, I could have easily taken out 3-7 ground targets…
Carriers literally take many dozens of missiles to destroy, and yet the total reward is something close to that of 3 ground targets. That’s if you even get the kill credit at all.
Countless times I have been shot down by SAMs or players before even getting to launch, had my missiles all miss the target or get shot down, have someone take out my target just before my missiles hit it, have someone take out a ship I spent several sorties firing at, etc, etc. Once, I got a “Target Destroyed!” message after hitting a destroyer, and received a grand total of 290 SL and 30 RP. It’s quite unenjoyable at this point to spend so much time and effort attacking naval targets, and even end up with negative SL at times.
That was already addressed. They’re going to be increased once they’ve got more ships capable of more effective interception. ASM-3s for example never get intercepted at current.
You know there is ground combat that affects the outcome of the match… right?
Doesn’t change the core point that currently the redfor side’s only disadvantage is frontline AA
And you’re missing my point. The Pantsir is far superior to ito90, so to nerf the frontline blufor AA would mean to make redfor AA superior everywhere instead of just in some places.
Imagine how AGM-88C/Gs feel being slower lol
played quite a few games and honestly im happy and disapointed at the same time. at lower of like 11.0-10.3 i was having a amazing team with my friends at 11.0-12.0 it felt abit tight but still super fun but above 12.0 specially above 13.0 its almost unplayable because the amouta things happening is just way to chaotic the top part of the map is just chaotic and a biblical sin 30km sperating 2 air fields should be a war crime in this game, just restric this map to 12.0 and below and we can have this in the current map rotation
I like that map as NE, but AAs are deadly as usual. Fun is more instant, sadly it end tomorrow. Hope you let it be whole weekend.
Played it a bit. At least for 13.0+ this is completely unsitable.
I am just taking off with my F-16, picking up some speed, still subsonic - but there are already several enemies within 20km of me. Thats just not it.
Not advocating for any nerfs to BLUFOR AA, but since we’re seemingly talking about top tier balance, I’m tossing my hat in the ring.
REDFOR might have better ground assets in general, but BLUFOR absolutely dogwalks REDFOR in terms of air to ground performance atm, something I mentionned would become a major issue way back during testing, as back then, players werent widely aware of glidebomb SEAD strats, and in earlier iterations, radar shutoff did not exist to counter the obviously overpowered Kh-31 variants, which allowed REDFOR to take the lead early and potentially win the match before the crushing weight of BLUFOR strike volume eventually caught up and surpassed REDFOR’s comparatively meager efforts.
I’ve played many matches on both sides using a widerange of nations at top tier, and it is VERY hard to say BLUFOR is really suffering in any way compared to REDFOR. A single F-15E has a similar strike capability of any ~3 REDFOR jets combined for example, and even light fighters such as the F-16C and JAS38E have superior strike capabilities to any single REDFOR jet.
Despite REDFOR AA being superior, BLUFOR almost exclusively clears all REDFOR long range AA first, since AGM-88G completely ignores radar shutoff mechanics that counter very long range ARM laumches, and AGM-154, GBU-39/53, and Spice 250’s can all reliably bypass ~99% of long range SAM sites self protection capabilities.
AA in general, on both sides, is much too weak beginning around 13.7+. Both sides GBAD sites are incapable of actually surviving any kind of serious SEAD/DEAD attack by a single player who knows what they’re doing, never mind a few simultaneously, and BLUFORs side is incapable of really even threatening anyone but low alt players trying to do frontline strike missions, which leads to the total breakdown of the gamemode into just, air RB with respawns, with fighter jocks on both sides flying at 10km+ alt slinging fox 3’s at people trying to take off, possibly not realizing that NE doesnt actually count on your statcard, and therefore, doesnt actually help you pad your stats.
Yeah, i love the challenge of destroying naval targets and actually permanently clearing the sea for mu team but the rewards are pathetic
Actually NE does count for stats now so people who do want to pad stuff like KPB/KD can easily do it by playing pure air to air.
Oh? When’d they change that?
Think like 1-2 weeks ago somewhere in that timeframe. I noticed it after I played an F-15E match where my ground targets destroyed jumped by 80 on my statcard. You can also see that external websites like statshark are also now recording it because it tracks based on player statcard.

About a minute after takoff.
You would reasonably guess that those are just SAMPT’s doing their thing, unfortunately no, among those there is a 120D screeching in.
Or is there?
Yes, there is, because I die to it like 15 sec. later.
Good luck figuring that one out I guess. Even the normal NE suffers from that, but this is just next level.
Ive literally lost many matches playing on REDFORs side, they arent even slightly op ground assets i dont know where you got them being op from but you do you i guess lol
for IFVs. Just stay far away its literally that simple damn.
ive almost never seen people die to pantsirs because theyre at airfields or sam sites. I never mentioned them because i dont think theyre even that good they dont have the same pull (still 32Gs) but being slightly faster and having more range than the VT1
replace only the frontline ItOs and you could actually play the damn game on REDFOR with NATO stuff (Yes. Nato vehicles can play on redfor)
What the hell are you talking about. AGM88G is way superior than the KH31PD. And besides you can launch them from max altitude and itll get a ton of speed, i literally did this with the F/A-18E i managed to kill several pantsirs and such, KH31PD is fast yea but ive had instances where the missile just flew up to the sky because the radar shut off, gaijin also made a change for lower br HAWK/S75 making SEAD useless for medium/long range
I just cant believe you added onto my argument about the frontline ItOs and started talking about a different spaa i barely see kill people, ive evaded 2S6 at range, outpulled its missiles. But ItO? No. Ive died every single time to them because they dont lose G pull and are super fast, if theyd be replaced with ADATS that i said, there would be similar results with 2S6. Besides there are so many top tier jets with MAW that can counter the ADATS not giving off RWR.
also i have barely died to pantsir because theyre just goofballs, the killfeed against BLUFOR is mostly people dying to SAMP, ItO or other people
barely see people die to 2S6 or Pantsir, mostly S300 is doing some of the work, at one point i even had a losing streak playing REDFOR while being placed in between of 1st and 6th place. (9 losses or so in a row.)
this map is far too small for these BRs on the north side ( hong kong new territories ) but its humongous over the south china sea.
Southeastern city probably wasnt the best pick for a NE map. I understand that the devs want a naval aspect to NE but i dont think its needed for every map. With that said, Golan heights would have been a better second map

or…here me out…fighting over the USA/Russia border over the arctic.
REDFOR can lose —> perfectly balanced
Keep in mind, “playable area” of original Nuclear Escalation map is about 140x140km in size, with so much space being unused. When was the last time you’ve been past second mountain range in A1?
You mean you NEED to launch them at altitude where they very briefly exceed speed of Kh31, then proceed being parachute as usual.
Unfortunately no, it is S300 that lack such mechanic in first place. When you put AGM-88G against SAMP-T, it gets spoofed by radar off trick all the same. Conversely, Kh-31 vs S300 tracks all the way
