Anyone else notice that the game doesn’t seem to be as stable as it used to be? A few issues that I’ve noticed happening more and more frequently lately:
Going into a bomber will sometimes change my shell to HE (or another shell). Currently, I have two shells on my tank, APHE and HE. APHE is my default and I rarely switch to HE. However, spawning back in my tank from a bomber my tank will start firing HE shells. I can tell the shell type by the damage preview which shows a HE shell, and the amount of damage that it does (which is negligible to zero on anything but light tanks or SPAA). But, the shell counter for my HE doesn’t go down–my APHE does. If I press #1, which corresponds to my APHE, this will revert this bug.
Damage to my tank sometimes just appears out of nowhere. I’ll be driving and there’s no indication that my tank has been hit, but it’ll become disabled or stop, then display that it has destroyed modules after a second or two.
My gun will fire, the shell will travel a small distance and then disappear. A moment after the shell disappears (instead of hitting the tank I’m aiming at), my tank will instantly reload and I can shoot again after a half second.
My gun will say that it’s full reloaded, but I cannot fire for a short time. It almost seems like the game is waiting for the reload audio to complete before I can fire a shell.
There’s more, but these are the ones that I remember distinctly from today and when I played last night.
Should report these things as bugs and make individual reports for them with substantial evidence to show the issue.
And as Necronomica said, when you started posting a few days back I was sure it was gonna be a wifi issue… If you use wifi, it’s absolute dogwater… Don’t use it…
Zero issues with my ISP network, no load on my home network, no load on my PC, zero loss, 40-45 ping maximum. I am on WIFI, but I play high(er) tick games with no problems like this.
The issue with logging this as a bug is that some power starved mods will read it, disagree with it on a personal level, and delete the entire post + conversation after altering the title and contents to make them rule breaking without saying anything. Just so that the game can have the appearance of having few bugs or issues.
If I had to guess, there’s an issue with the games netcode when dealing with high latency players. Because there are times when players on the enemy team appear to be skating and rubber banding around the map as the game updates their position from theoretical to actual coordinates. I likely notice this issue during the day time because players from Europe are playing on NA servers. And don’t notice it at all or as much at night because I’m only playing against other NA players.
Lol this one has lead to alot of horrifying situations where I’m looking down the barrel of an enemy and wondering where tf my shell went.
Haha yes! Followed by me frantically pressing Left Click on the mouse trying to get a shell to fire. The 1 second it takes to reload feels like an eternity. It could easily mean the difference between getting 2+ kills or suffering an early death.
Oh. I misread your previous message. No, I’m not going to tear up the walls of my newly built house to maybe address issues with a game that’s absolutely riddled with bugs when no other game experiences similar issues. That would be expensive and unnecessary.
I didn’t think anything I said was hostile. However, your advice comes off as very dismissive and patronizing because you’ve chosen to ignore anything that would go against your theory that I’m experiencing network connectivity/latency issues.
Just think about the example that I gave about one player with a high latency skating and rubber banding around the map. If 31 players are able to move around the map perfectly smoothly, how could one player teleporting around the map be a network issue on my end? Surely, if my network has issues then everyone would be impacted similarly…including my tank. But, this isn’t the case at all.
500mb/150mb fiber. I can see the utility boxes from my window from when they upgraded it. It’s a new neighborhood with all underground services. Never had an outage, loss, or issues with it in the 5 years I’ve been living here.
My router is an Netgear XR1000 which should be more than capable.
I’ve already used one version of that, a packet loss test, for 3 hours with zero missed packets and no real spikes to ping. Then one for bufferbloat which gave excellent results across the board but a B for low latency gaming when my network is heavily loaded, which it never is while I am gaming.
Wifi would only be a problem if you had a bunch of other ppl all watching cat videos on it at the same time.
Blaming the last hop is some ppl here’s first and only suggestion. When yeah, its most likely lagging network clients or even the game server choking. I only play PVP games on the NA server when its low tide for those who like to join it from the other side of the planet. But when I add EU for doing assaults to get games sometimetodayplease, I see what you saw allthetime.
I’m certain that the devs will tell you that is a bi-product of their anti-cheat measures. Cannot have clients knowing where that airstrip is before you want them to lol.
Likely to be the same reason why tanks will magically disappear even though they’re only partially behind cover, and sometimes I can be looking directly at an enemy tank in arcade but they don’t show up on my map and their nameplate doesn’t appear, so I’m left guessing whether it’s a operational tank or not.
These guys are 100% convinced it’s the last hop even though there’s zero evidence to support their theory, I can show them the network tests to debunk their theory, and others have noticed the same types of issues under similar circumstances.
