No rewards when severely enemy plane was finished off by their own teammate

Severely damaged the IL10, and super thirsty skink on their own team trying to shoot me down ends up missing me and hitting getting the final blow on the IL10. Why is this not given a reward? The IL10 was fluttering down to earth like a helicopter seed.

If the skink was on their team like you said, I could see the teamkill function overriding the reward to you.

it will be listed in “severe damage” not kills, because you severely damaged it, not killed it.

You can bug report it here: Gaijin.net // Issues (just search a bit first so that you don’t report something that is already reported and known about)

A guide on how to report bugs can be found here: ([Navigation] Technical Knowledge Base | War Thunder Wiki)

Well, i would personally also assume that if a severely damaged enemy gets teamkilled it would give you the rest of the rewards same as if they crashed for example.

That is my point, thank you. Otherwise, players could technically exploit it to prevent you from getting rewards.

It might be intended, i don’t know, so it’s best to create a bug report for it just in case it isn’t intended.

If you crit. them then they get TKed you don’t get a kill, only an assist, I don’t see why this would be different.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it should work that way, but that’s how it functions with damage enemies, so I would assume sever damage functions the same.
Although if some one TKs they should eat the TK, not get away with it because the person they TKed was damaged already. Of course they could credit both the kill and the TK, but I imagine they see that as rewarding work you didn’t actually do.

It should still credit the original shooter if its a teamkill like this tbh. It’s not a crazy issue, but the majority of the RP you get anyways is within the severe damage section while the destruction of aircraft is more of a bonus to that. For instance the majority of RP gain I got from shooting down this SU-33 was from damaging it and not actually destroying it.

It really just seems to be a bug with the severe damage mechanic.

I have seen people with far less enemy damage get killed by friendly fire and it credits the ENEMY not the friendly fire.

I bet it’s a toggle or non-existent toggle for friendly sources, or perhaps a deterrent. A friendly once finished me off on the runway for no reason after I landed with severe damage and it counted as the enemy kill. Really frustrating as I was being repaired and they just came in for and landing and teamkilled me.

You know how Gaijin is about rewarding players for work “they didn’t do”.
I’m more pointing how I believe it functions, not defending that function. The severe damage mechanic dose need some refinement in general, there are things that count as severe that seem to leave a plane fully functional while other times it’s stuff that would have been an out right kill before it was introduced.
It also annoys me when I’m 5 seconds from fully repaired after RTBing with severe damage and the match ends and all that work making it back gets flushed down the drain as my plane is written off, you should at least get an award for that.

Yeah and with the latest update, I don’t mind being given aircraft kills for just flying past them and never engaging them lol.

Except if you crash and it gives them a kill, you still get a cool down in the hanger.

When they first introduced it I was flying a P38 and a single bullet made the winglet between the tails BLACK on the damage diagram. I was flying 100% fine, as the control surfaces were not impacted in anyway.

When the match ended, written off due to severe damage.

Another time, air battles. I literally just 8v1 and won, winning the game, but I was severely damaged, trying to make it to the forward airfield (it was close) but the match ended and I was written off.

There are many times “severe damage” was completely fine, and other times when there wasn’t much left of the plane and yet not considered severe damage.

They also seemed to make changes to flight model where seemingly insignificant damage to the plane can have massive impact in how it flies.
