Oh?
If you find an image of that i’d like to see it. I do agree we need more native finnish stuff - ideally I would have us get:
T-34/85 Ps. 235-4 (T-34-85 with a german L/48)
BAF C (BA-10M with upgraded engine)
Comet 84mm Tykillä (Seen above)
T-50 “Niki” (T-50 with add-on armor)
Landsverk 182 (Modified with a 20mm AT gun)
And three current vehicles would be modified:
T-34 (Given the muzzle break one was modified with)
T-28 (Given its finnish-added armor and crew configuration)
Pz. IV (Turret skirt removed and MG34s replaced with DT MGs.)
Be nice to see a remodel of the Finnish Charioteer too, it’s got the wrong barrel in game, should be a late model 20 pdr with a fume extractor. The confusion appears to come from some old British ones being grabbed and painted in Finnish colours for gate guard.
So China could get a BMP-3/BMD-4 hybrid? I’d be down for it provided that the turret swap was a Chinese modification or that the Russians did it specifically for Chinese tests.
I guess.
ZBD-04A is a new domestic chassis combining the loading system/armament of the BMD-4 into a new turret.
So I guess that specific vehicle might have something to do with it.
And there is this photo as well, but it is from another forum in which I require an account to (presumably) see among others that I suspect to be interesting in their larger form. https://maanpuolustus.net/threads/kuvia.4425/page-27
That’s actually the original T53 GMC prototype not T53E1
The project started as a successor/upgrade to the M10 TD, which was getting obsolete.
It was a front engine Sherman hull but as both SPAA and TD it was unsatisfactory.
The gun shield, in one of its photos, I presume was added later.
The T53E1 came after in order to rectify T53’s faults
It had a conventional rear engined Sherman hull, with the 90mm mounted on a platform in the center of the vehicle.
There were two variants based on the 12mm sheet armor gun shield.
The first had the sheets bolted to form a box structure with front, sides and top covered and back open.
The 2nd variant had the two 12mm semicircular sheets on either side with top and back open.
Ultimately it wouldn’t be adopted, and the T71 GMC would be adopted as M36.
An Oplot variant specific to Pakistani requirement. (not adopted, VT-4 Haider was inducted instead)
Essentially weight was reduced in comparison to standard BM Oplot config.
The thick Duplet ERA side skirts that cover the whole length was replaced with a lightweight sideskirts that cover only the frontal half of the hull. (likely Nizh, since thinner).
The varta soft-kill APS was also removed.
