If it does have 3 engines it may use the 2 underside intakes for engines that power supersonic flight and the top ones for engines that power subsonic flight.
That would be needlessly complicated though. The whole design seems a little over engineered imo.
M116 Husky Davy Crockett Carrier
But instead of firing the 280mm M388 nuclear round (duh) in WT … it can fire the 280mm M390 non-nuclear round, which had 7.3kg(!) of Comp B HE … i.e more boom than KV-2’s HE round.
It can act as tracked open-top HE-slinging TD. Like Ho-Ro and at around 1.3~1.7 BR
I would much prefer the Davy Crockett on the M116 platform rather than the better known jeep mount, as I presume the former would have a higher ammunition count.
It should be a high speed design, combined with huge radar(seems huge multi array)the huge PL-17 missile, making it an overwhelming BVR killer. subsonic flight performance is not needed for it, and this kind of aerodynamic shape is good at stealth and speed, not mobility.
3rd intake in back is to make space for it’s huge missile bay. there are also some guess about its middle engine could be ramjet engine.
But I think it’s more like a test plane, it may need 10 years to get it’s full potential capbility, like mixed engine and other things, but it’s current condition still make it the best fighter in the world now.
On paper maybe. We still have no clue about either its flight or its system performances.
Most countries are capable of flying test beds with only an airframe and a few spare engines and call it 6th gen from far away, pixelated pictures.
Having an actual, working, lethal prototype is a whole other level
From the image we can see many distinguishable parts, multi array AESA, EODAS, hugeweapon bay, far more than just a simple test platform like EAP or X-2(Japan).
China seldom made this kind of test planes, they spended a lot on their wind tunnel labs to make them the best, so they do most of these kinds of pre-test indoors.
WTF? that doesn’t make sense
It should at least add missile launchers. Also there were leaked pictures of the APS earlier, these improvements should have been made at the same time
quantum computers is not useful for military planes for now, you may be surprised by how bad the computer in modern planes, they usually aim for reliability, not calculating speed, may be even slower than your smart phone.
it’s compared to older planes, military compter and civilian computer are 2 different world.
the slow computer from civilian view is enough for processing all the information.
just no, the things weigh in the tons yet still haven’t achieved a real use case (except for further research) and require cooling to absolute zero making it quite space intensive too. If NGAD is ahead of China like you claim quantum won’t be ready for it.
