Two sub trees already

Would’ve been much better than Chally 1 and Would’ve resulted in much better Chally 2 i.e MBT90
UK wouldn’t even had to hold trials for foreign platforms like Abrams and Leopards in the 90s.

Because… is it my wish? I just want the skin, I also have the Spanish skin for the German 2A6.

Furthermore, I don’t think Spain is an Italian subtree.

TBF the MBT-80 programme suffered from a bit of TSR2 syndrome, i.e. Late, over budget, and trying to do too much. When you have an almost as good option there, just requiring a little work (Shir 2/CR1) for less money, that makes more sense tbh.

(+ the MBT-80 project had only produced turrets at the time of cancellation. The hulls used for the prototypes where Shir 2 hulls.)

FV4601, MBT-80.

" For field trials the turret was originally fitted to a Chieftain hull, but as the programme progressed it later transferred to the hull it is now on at Bovington. The turret is actually a FV4211 turret, presumably because the interior would have been similar to MBT-80 (if one was ever to be built). Should you see the WSD at Bovington you will notice thick vertical plates mounted on the turret front either side of the gun, these are simply ballast weights to raise the inertia of the turret to represent that of an armoured turret."
