RF-4EJ/EJ Kai
I think its time for this at 12.3 against these f18 spam
WTF is that? plz tell me someone made a suggestion for it
No other place but an independent tree
7.3/7.7 SPAAG for UK plz I’m begging Gaijin
(Without proxy ~7.7, only 1x30mm at 200rpm with decent locking but AFAIK no search radar. Theoretically could have a proxy round)
(~7.7, 2x20mm with radar and tracking.)
(~5.7-6.3, 2x low velocity 20mm, but with decent firing angles and turret traverse speeds)
Like hell I’ll take a guy with a MCLOS Blowpipe at this point
The platform radar is mounted on can spin, to preform a 360, but in game it would be limited to LOS, do to sight having to be in line with the gun.
No they dont JP223 is unique.
Lmao hell no. 11.7 max.
Worse mig-23 mld
It’s not. It’s a runway cratering/A2AD weapon. The only difference is most countries decided having the dispenser stay attached to your aircraft is a stupid idea to end up with FOD to the dispenser aircraft.
JP-223 was a successful weapon the only issue with it was the attack run you had to be low and vulnerable to ground fire.
No other nation had a mass Clustering/mine/HEAT dispenser, US and Russia had bombs with submunitions.
Hey stupid!
Germans had the MW-1! A different dispenser on the exact same aircraft.
Disconnecting the dispenser from the aircraft doesn’t change anything, except reducing the risk of FOD. They all act as a cluster munition.
Almost like it’s inferior to a WCMD… Weird…
Combat trainy Tu-128. And yes, there should be (if there isnt one already) for this ugly thing, together with Yak-38U
I mean literally any dispenser system that separates from the aircraft is better than jp223.
Having one that is steerable/INS just takes it even further in that direction.
So yeah BK-90 then as it can be controlled when dropped lol
We were talking about the efficacy of the anti runway operations. Yes Germany have a version
FOD was not an issue the bomblets are launched away from the airframe
Completely different, WCMD is a bomb and the spread was not as controlled that’s the point it was a more accurate way to deliver the bomblets exactly where you wanted them.
Tornado and was the aircraft tasked with disabling Iraqi airfields because of the weapon system it carried. It was also tasked with first strike on Russian/Soviet airfields. They acheived in Iraq causing more disruption than the B-52 high alt drops and the F-111 strikes.
During the conflict the decision was changed with high altitude laser guided bombs and well the Iraqi airforce was combat ineffective.
You mean the system that is less effective at disabling a runway than the Durandal/BLU-107/B carried by F-111s that did the same thing?
It’s not. They are both dispensers. The difference is one leaves the aircraft low, slow, and stupid going straight down the runway, which if you are going to be forced to do, you might as well use the more effective for the job, Durandal, or if absolute destruction of the runway is not your goal then the WCMD and other dispensers make for better AD weapons, by not putting your acft in harms way.
F-111 also a great aircraft, as for effectiveness we cannot possibly measure that.
Tornado didn’t need to slow down it was low and the discharge of the weapon at night would illuminate the aircraft. Tornado was tasked with the largest Iraqi airfrields on the first night of the air campaign.
Everyone acknowledged it was a dangerous mission and no other Airframe or Airforce could acheive it.
Tornado flew low it flew fast and it flew in the dead of night.
I feel your experience of Tornado comes from it being a bit crap in War Thunder.
20th Wing flight commander Captain George Kelman said “there is nothing better at destroying a runway than a Durandal.”
Which is about the same as this:
Which is just a flowery way of saying the risk assessment made dictated the US wasn’t going to do it because person in charge didn’t sign a waiver, and the RAF said, “fuck it we don’t care if we put our pilots in harms way”.
Which is not a unique capability of the Tornado?
F-111s did El Dorado Canyon before DS, and frankly was likely a major factor in the risk assessment and decision making.
No. My experience of real aircraft and their capabilities comes from real world blood, sweat and tears poured into them, and my understanding of how decisions are made in these scenarios comes from being more than an online larper.
I like the Tornado. But pretending it’s some 1 of a kind EU wonder weapon is pathetic.
