They will give it everything but a good transmission…
I’m all for upgraded T-72’s but the giant rubber flaps on the rear of the turret leave much to be desired. As soon as the turret is turned, there goes the whole idea of protecting the engine compartment. Not to mention it already has Arena-M that supposedly can target drones now.

the tomcat is a plane im happy is contained in the USA tree as it would destroy the game if good players got one
It’s overrated ATP. It used to dominate, I won’t deny that, but not anymore.
And as for good players,
- I’m sure many have the US Air tree grinded out
- There’s also the event tomcat
I agree its power in game is far overexaggerated however its still one of the best in its league.
the free tomcat incident made them more common. im just glad US pilots are some of the worst overall as the F14 has very high potential and it marks where air battles go from being fun to nothing but hugging the ground and hoping to not die from missile explosion splashes from american missile busses.
This is a really F-14 (and eventually super hornet) specific issue, no one else uses missiles that big in 4th gen time except for the russians with the long range AAM on MiG-25 and later 31
From my limited time at top tier air the Phoenix/fakour is the only missile that really does the whole splash damage thing
Is this the ZTZ96A with the GL-6? Looks more like a ZTZ99A. There were sources stating it was the ZTZ96A.
Also heard that this APS is also called the GL-6?
the splash kills are just really damn annoying and inconsistent, especially over water where it shouldnt really be an issue. there was nothing you could to to not die so feels like youre cheated every time
That’s just what the Phoenix is supposed to be like, it has a giant warhead so consider splash kills a feature I guess
its just an unfair one as there isnt a BVR missile of that calibre for anyone but the americans

Ask for MiG-25 with R-40 if you want a counterpart it’s a cool jet
theres modern options to counter them which have not been added, WT isnt a game for historical accuracy, its why we have the pzh2000 fighting ww2 tanks after all.

And the R-40 is generally worse than the Phoenix but is the closest thing to it
