IIR is strong, but not as strong as a lot of people think it is.
It takes 2 seconds for most IIR seekers to even spool up enough to recognize flares vs aircraft.
Spacial Flares also are a hard counter for IIR missiles as they completely cloud the view of the seeker, but the release of the flares have to be exact and perfectly read aspect or it won’t work.
Programmable flares can work from a distance, such as the ones on the Rafale that are near identical to its engine signatures.
There are counters, just not ones in game right now. IIR will be just like gatewidth but a lot stronger, you want to be far away from it when flaring.
If you were wanting to say it had 1200 HP engine it didnt recieve it, I read in one book 1984 (T-80A programm goes from 1976 to 1984, predating T-80B as a whole) T-80A tanks had GTD-1000TF, that were on serial T-80B tanks at the moment.
I hope they won’t seize it behind the paywall. Although there are at least 3 possible variants of TR-85M1 to add, so there is a chance that one of them will be regular.
