Uuuumm as far as I know the R74M has a much better seeker, a Digital seeker (not image seeking) that can tell the difference in heat of counters and an aircraft and better HOBS then the 73…you’re probably thinking of R73M…never said it’s the best next Gen IR…but it is in that Gen I would imagine.

that is clearly wrong as it has a time to target of 20 seconds to hit the sun

R74m uses a regular old irccm seeker (im sure there’s a proper name I just don’t know). They haven’t made a iir one like the Western and even Chinese missiles 🤷♀️

It’s a r73 with slightly better ofbore it’s not a massive improvement and iirc its slower then nearly every other modern missle.

Another thing is, it’s from the shorter range very maneuverable type, like IRIS-T and 9X, here 60 deg is quite poor, compared to competition 90.

I can nearly guarantee you that’s impossible. For both it’s probably 25km in perfect conditions maybe if it was something like k30 that would be believable.
