should have 360 countermeasures
nah this is edited f15E not actually a EX I forgot to change a lot
So, it seems someone else made a, War Thunder is dying video.
War thunder is dying video #423817
i can imagine its because the GCS-1 uses IR which can’t track through smoke, while mmW can
To add onto that, the GCS-1 is a gravity bomb and you can’t pre-lock a target
Also, inb4 it can’t lock tanks in-game
Same I wanna know too if its this update, Decembers update or this year at all because seeing that post is now making my brain run wild
Which would be a good point if they hadn’t introduced a new munition that isn’t available in GRB 😵💫
Any idea if the clusters bombs work in air sim?
They probably will work in sim as well
I hope so
They specified they won’t work in ground modes. Air Sim is not a ground mode.
Still though since us sim players feel like air sim has been a forgotten mode its kinda hard to say
Just prepare for the F-15E killing the server hamster with 15 CBUs in one pass
Yeah airfields may actually become fun but a struggle to kill solo
Its still a good point, the current guidance logic (IR and TV) cannot track through smoke and don’t track by radar return, so it’d require new logic that doesn’t exist in game yet. Unless they give it placeholder IR / TV, but those are seperate guidance logic with their own drawbacks (TV can’t be used at night, IR can be fooled by a hotter heat signature (in the case of NE/Air battles, destroyed ground troops nearby)).
So for mmW, sure the launch logic is now there (drop and it finds the target by itself) but the actual guidance logic isn’t (mmW would have neither drawbacks of the IR / TV)
It’d still get pulled away by destroyed vehicles anyway, no? Those still have the same radar signature?
@Smin1080p_WT Could they at least fix how broken IOG is on the Brimstones in the meantime? Even providing a midcourse update with SAL guidance they seem to pull hard off track as if they’ve never received the update. As it stands the IOG is functionally useless even within a few km launch distance. From what I and others can tell is that IOG is only active when launched and doesn’t update afterwards meaning you can hold lock 90% of the way in but once you let go they go way off which is actually detrimental vs having no IOG at all.
I guess it’d keep that drawback, but then it’d still lack the smoke drawback from IR/TV (unless they switch modern vehicles’ smoke to multi-spectral/“chaff smoke”) and the day-time restriction of TV.
Also a by-thought is that GCS-1 might be their way of testing the launch-logic of mmW, since the GCS-1 uses an IR Seeker- which already has its guidance logic modelled realistically in game.
