could be
The r27 is already on the US TT…
cant because trainers didnt have live munition for some countrys.
Eh… maybe but also maybe not, like all the 90s era Russian/Russian adjacent projects its probably more of a thing of “If you pay us the money we can develop this for you”.
Which is alot more involved than your trying to make it out to be. You dont just plop an AIM-9M onto a MiG-29 or an R-73 onto a Mirage F-1 and go you have to make changes to the jet internally to even be able to fire it or use it with an HMS if you want to go that far.
right Iran f14A?
it just takes some wires that you and I don’t understand so stop larping
Yeah, on the US tt…

someone give Iran a f15A (please don’t…) so we can get Iran missiles on a f-15 crazy how a f14A is still flying no idea how the metal is still working (it likely isn’t…)
Fair point, though being able to put R-27/77s on a Mirage really is a huge claim to make
Well, we still have the Su-30MKI with its I-Derby-ERs and MICAs (and I think somebody showed me a pic of an MKI with ASRAAMs recently), but I guess that doesn’t count
it is all wires HUD changes for IR missiles I would believe
thats because india use their own FCS and codes.
but as for R73, no hard modification need to be done, as showcased by the mirage 2000-5 form india

add HUD and pylon changes… and IRST changes?
holy its getting deeper and deeper

Fair point, the MKI is specialized for Indias purposes, but they still had to find a way to make the MICAs and I-Derby-ERs compatible with the Russian radar
which i still think its the FCS that translate code btw the 2 different systems.
maybe they do it with a other way, who knows. maybe balta.
but i know that russia radar are open source to intergrate nato weapons.
For real? That’s pretty interesting, didn’t know about that.
At the end of the day the only real problem is the integration cost anyways. Just buying more of the “native” missiles is cheaper than to modify your planes to be able to use another nations (S)ARH missiles.
Not entirely there are discussions about the Finnish Drakens originally being modified for use with R3S since their Mig 21s had them but the plan fell through as R13M outperformed it in terms of Soviet integration and the introduction of RB27 and RB28

For them anyways Soviet missiles they had stockpiles of radar wise simply failed to meet the other missiles they had on hand. Had the Fins had stuff like Sparrows it’s likely their migs would’ve been modified to use them.
Nearly every Finnish vehicle be it ground or air used wack ammo.
BT-42 uses a German gun with a heat shell from a British howitzer iirc.
Finnish SPAA could use both Soviet and German ammo with no modifications.
We eventually get Belgian ammo for their T55s or swedish Bofors ammo for their T54s.
The small selection of aircraft they had a majority of both used Soviet missiles though it’s not surprising as both were made in the same factory
