Next Major Update - Rumor Roundup & Discussion

This is the main reason I laugh at purist they don’t want sub trees fine but where are you going to place them then and the common answer always boils down to “Just don’t add them as I don’t care just don’t want MY nation to be filled with them” aka they just want the game to be US vs Russia.

If I’m correct a lot of the BeNeLux community wanted to be a seperate tech tree as well anyways

Yeah, those were pretty much the same conclusions I came to in my discussion, especially considering how many holes the vehicles have to go through when using subtrees.

I think this nails it on the head

While at first some of the subtrees made sense and were mutually beneficial, we’ve reached a point where subtrees are being added to provide representation of other nations, not necessarily to improve the host tree.

That’s fine in a vacuum, but between how Gaijin has structured grinding and the limited amount of additions this year, subtree additions for many trees end up having an assumed opportunity cost.

I’ve seen a suggestion for a selectable set of subtrees that vary by nations that would be a great way of addressing both issues, and hopefully Gaijin recognizes how much of an issue this is and works to address it in a serious way

@exeisdefeatable Eurofighter-Nachfolge - Österreich braucht keine F-15EX Super Eagle We almost got the good F-15EX. Sadly, they are right, as our Air Force doctrine is intercepting, so a mighty F-15EX with just 2x IRST and 2 Amramm would be useless.

@Pheonix_RX01 I wonder if they would buy the Gripen E, and what modifications they would do/wont.

Yeah, I think that would have been more beneficial for both parties, especially since France did see a drop in domestic content after the Benelux was added. Personally, I’m completely fine with the Benelux being added elsewhere on its own or as a Nation folder or into a more compatible tree; I just want it to remain together as a single unit with semi regular additions.

Eagle II’s steak is too juicy and lobster too buttery issue.

i dont understand

I mean considering the vehicles added in those subtrees, it mostly ends up being the case anyway

France has more F-16 than the US now if i’m not mistaken, which is quite meh, both for France AND the US trees

Its an indirect way of saying that someone is ungreatfull for a good thing happening, and in this case the Eagle II is “too good” and overkill for their use case.

Yeah, makes scense. If the Austrian Military would buy it, our people would just crash out, becouse how expensive and absurd it is to buy a multi role plane to unly use as a interceptor with small amount of missles.

I do wonder what with ground forces. As it is just a upgraded optics 2a4, same armor and gun. I personally would just upgrade the armor by installing armor packs like the 2a4M, 5, or 6, idk what got upgraded from 2a4.

do you know what day today is?

Yes, this is pretty much the core issue I have with the current system. If only a handful of gap-filler vehicles are added, the subtree gets very little representation and becomes little more than a collection of miscellaneous vehicles. However, adding enough vehicles to properly represent a nation takes up space that could otherwise go to domestic designs from the main tree and increases the grind for players who just aren’t interested in the subtree.

This is why I think subtree folders are the best solution. They give the main tree more room for domestic vehicles while allowing subtrees like the Netherlands to have a proper mini tree of unique and copy-paste vehicles. Players can grind through the subtree if they’re interested or simply ignore it if they’re not. And this would still achieve Gaijin’s goal of giving players more lineup options while benefiting both sides.

and to be clear I also really enjoy the French tree alongside my love for Benelux vehicles, and I’d like to see regular French additions resume after quite a drought, After all, there’s a reason I grinded into the top 500 to get the AMX-50 Surblindé back in 2019.

As a Dutchman, yes, I can confirm

Like always it come back to RR&Ds holy grail:

70-90% of all issues with all sub-trees would be fixed with this.

Not enough room, now in its own tree, don’t want to grind host or sub vehicle good news you don’t, etc.

Who in their right mind would suggest the F15EX to be a possible candidate for the EFT successor??? We are barely willing to buy and maintain a couple of second hand Black Hawks.

almost to the lucky number :D

You don’t need to spam mention him, it’s the weekend and they’re not here. Anyone else can tell you that there is always the possibility for more vehicles for all nations, not just Greece. Take a look at aircraft/ground/naval suggestions section, plenty of content for them to work with there.

Successor is a stretch, it would have been more like a much more capable Tornado than a replacement of Eurofighter.
