the cm post will mention a challenger 2 rework i promise (im lying)
Would be nice to see custom loadouts on the F-86s though at some point, maybe with reworked loadouts too since there is options we don’t have on them in game yet. Especially the F-86F-40 comes to mind that on top of missing fuel tanks like most others also lacks the ability to take missiles with other loadouts and is missing some rocket options
ROCAF F-86F-40 with AIM-9B missiles and fuel tanks, as well as the main wing pylons used to carry bombs
JASDF F-86F-40 with mounting for MA-3 rocket pod (7x FFAR pod) next to the fuel tankImage of MA-3s on a Spanish F-86
Seems that at least three per wing are possible next to the fuel tank, though the two inner ones seem to occupy the space where a bomb would be carried.
I’m just hoping that the Polish tech tree is mentioned in it 🤞
My personal Cope-o-Meter is showing 07%. Keep it going folks!
why not 007% ?
Polska tree shouldnt be a cope.
it should be a reality.

Toward the end of the week — this most likely means CM on Thursday.
“early next week” aka tomorrow trust me
Day 27 of waiting for Cypriot sub tree
CM blog will have F-15EX mentioned, I know it
The CM blog will just show this picture and nothing else
Spoiler

Yes, the Thai F-84 was a rather poor example.
Let’s compare their capabilities. Consider the Japanese Fuji T-1 against aircraft from the sub-trees (such as the Thai Aero L-39ZA/ART and Cessna A-37B, or the Malaysian Canadair CL-41G and Aermacchi MB-339AM—I’m not sure if Indonesia has aircraft at a similar BR). In this company, the Fuji T-1—along with the Canadair CL-41G—looks disappointing. It is inferior to them in many respects, and its only real selling point is its historical background, which is easily overlooked. It reminds me a bit of the current state of the Mitsubishi F-1. That aircraft (at least from what I’ve observed) isn’t very appealing to play, given that it lacks its full loadout and faces superior sub-tree aircraft at a very similar BR. Is the only reason to fly it the fact that it was Japan’s first post-war jet fighter? I doubt that’s enough to draw players in (I wanted to check the F-1’s popularity against the A-7E and A-4PTM on Statshark, but the site isn’t cooperating).
At this point—at least from Gaijin’s perspective—adding the Fuji T-1 might not make much sense. It isn’t as iconic as the British Hawk, and sub-trees offer the option of adding more straightforward vehicles instead (such as modified versions of existing aircraft or a new model shared across several nations). Furthermore, the Fuji T-1 would likely be flown only by die-hard enthusiasts, potentially leading it to suffer the same fate as the R2Y2.
It shares the same fate as the Hunter F.6, both of them are old top tier planes that haven’t aged well at all thanks to powercreep and BR compression
The T-2 is genuinely the more appealing aircraft because it is 9.7 instead of 10.0 and the two extra missiles don’t make up for the lack of countermeasures, especially when you take rocket pods as makeshift countermeasures
I know this is a rather pessimistic view, but unfortunately, it seems very likely. I want to clarify that I’m not blaming the sub-trees for this, but rather Gaijin for how they add vehicles. (Personally, I’m happy that the Czech L-39ZA, for instance, was freed from the USSR—where it never should have ended up in the first place, given the events of '68—though that’s beside the point. The Russians should just get that lousy L-39 variant they actually used.)
Man I am divided, part of me really wants the F‑15EX added to the game, but the other part wants to see what kind of schizoposting you’ll come up with if it doesn’t come this update .
F-1 really is disappointing. It could very easily be a very useful aircraft to use against ships now that that is more relevant in the Nuclear escalation mode, but is still missing the ASM-1 missile while GCS-1 bombs aren’t even in the game at all.
I think it still does make a lot of sense to add personally, though this is maybe more just because I want to see it added personally.
I don’t think there is any other aircraft that can fill this unique light attack role. The only one that might be close is the Indonesian CS-102 (Czech built MiG-15UTI), which I think is less significant/popular than the T-1. It has very limited armament with only two 100kg bombs and a single 12.7mm machine gun, so it lacks the versatility the T-1 would have with heavier bombs, rockets, gun pods or missiles.
Maybe the Thai A-37B or Malaysian CL-41G, but I think those are a different type of aircraft compared to what the T-1 would be. Compared to them the T-1 is a more lightly armed but faster strike aircraft that can keep up with dedicated fighters afterwards (in all but armament, because with a strike loadout that’s just one MG) if needed.
Oh, but friday is the perfect slot to build up hype and let it simmer until the next tuesday at the earliest. To let us cook, anxious for more.
There are also supposedly Indonesian L-29s and Malaysian Aermacchi MB-339AMs.
I really want to see the Fuji T-1 added, even if it turns out to be a terrible aircraft. However, it compares very poorly against other light attack or trainer-attack aircraft from the sub-trees. I should also point out that there might simply be no physical space left for it. Sub-trees already occupy 2.5 out of the 5 lines in the Japanese tech tree, and the attack aircraft line is currently empty. That is likely where Indonesian aircraft will end up (I don’t see much point in hoping for new Japanese aircraft to be added to that specific line). If Gaijin starts adding sub-tree aircraft that require little development effort or can be reused across multiple trees (such as the L-29, MB-339AM, A-37B, or CL-41G), we might suddenly find there is no room left for the T-1. Of course, it could be placed in Rank IV, but I don’t think there are any tech-tree jets there in the entire game. Gaijin claims they don’t replace native vehicles with sub-tree ones, but just look at Great Britain. Where are its WWII-era armored cars? They are nowhere to be seen, even though the country had over ten different models.
It is safe to say that sub-trees have effectively blocked the addition of native Japanese vehicles. For instance, has the Malaysian line partially blocked the possibility of adding JMSDF patrol aircraft (such as the Kawasaki P2V-7, P-2J, P-3C, or P-1)? Due to the Gaijin engine—or some other limitation preventing a vehicle line from exceeding five entries—every vehicle added from a sub-tree physically blocks another vehicle from being included.
