Completely agree, even then though the grind will still be long so an overall reduction in RP would do some good.
Yeah a 6th line would be great. Keep lines 1->5 as they are but line 6 as a misc line for stuff that doesn’t fit in the other lines.
Something else I wish they’d add is an RP bank for nations you have researched. Something like either you finish a whole TT or maybe 3 lines of it you can then put further RP into a bank specific to each nation since once you have nothing else to research it all goes to waste. Something like this:
Hell even having mod RP go into vehicle research once you spaded the vehicle or its a premium would go a long way.
Honestly I think the best would be simply having a lot more vehicles to research but with less individual cost. The grind could still take the exact same time, but reward the players more frequently with new vehicles and accelerate stock grinds with lower cost.
For example instead of 5 vehicles costing 400k RP each I would much rather see 20 vehicles for 100k RP. Total cost stays the same, but the player gets more value out of it. This also has the added effect of making it look like a longer way to top tier, even if it isn’t, so some players might be more interested in buying premium because of this.
Maybe even a coastal / bluewater type split for vehicle classes. So one has the classic light / medium / heavy tanks, non-radar gun SPAA and tank destroyers, while the other would have MBTs, radar SPAA / SAM and IFVs for example.
Personally I’m fine as long as it’s an easy to understand split that doesn’t harm anything. For example existing premium vehicle efficiency should be considered so that a premium doesn’t suddenly stop being able to research something it was initially bought for.
This could probably be expanded more. I feel like maybe there is now a chance to experiment with different vehicle types like dedicated scout vehicles with limited armament that can be introduced for infantry but maybe tested in other ways too.
That said a 6th line in general should only be a matter of time. Maybe more if Gaijin agree to make a collapsing premium section.
This I agree with, a 6th line can have its uses if it is used for things other than a band-aid fix for sub-trees, as it doesn’t get rid of the problem, just delays it.
Stuff like spliting traked and wheeled lights or other vehicles that don’t fit in the already existing lines.
Getting either one of these would be such a major QOL addition, it 100% make the update a top 10.
I might be a bit too optimistic but I think the shift is slowly happening already. As you said in like 2-3 years Gaijin will have implemented the majority of the modern toys people are looking forward to.
Even though there haven’t been any major gamemode changes in the last decade, we have seen more and more temporary gamemode Events (gun only ARB, SEAD event). The upcoming aerialwarfare mode will likely include many of the things players have been asking for years. One can only hope but if this fails idk what will happen to the game…
Infantry mode is Gajin’s way to make more money. They’ll add premium Pay-to-Win weapons or units (for example, the VDV with RPO-A Shmel, which allows you to easily clear a building) along with premium vehicles like the BMPT or T-15. I don’t think Gajin will reduce grinding, because that’s where they make their money. Player irritation is Gajin’s way to make money (selling premium accounts, premium vehicles, or accelerating research).
if its anything like enlisted I highly doubt most premium squads will be pay to win, most premiums are showing off weird and wacky weapons, there are only a couple I can think of that I would say are pay to win
I’m still waiting for the Nakajima Ki-43-III Ko to finally arrive in Japan. This fighter (over 1,000 of this type were built) would be an excellent complement to the Ki-43-I and Ki-43-II, with a better engine, armor, and ground-attack capabilities. The Ki-43-III Ko, with Ro-3, Ro-3 Kai, and Ro-5 fragmentation missiles, along with Ro-7 AP missiles, would be very useful. However, for now, the Ki-43-III Ko is only available in China, although I haven’t been able to find evidence that China has acquired any Ki-43-III.
Please don’t tell me they have separate vehicles from the normal ones… At that point why not just add it to Enlisted when it doesn’t interact with rest of the game?
There aren’t even free mechanized units in Enlisted; they’re all premium. Enlisted is very pay-to-win and has terrible balance. (You Ho-I vs. Sherman and P-38).
I hope so. From what I’ve seen the entire thing was a bit weird, but I can’t really say how because some just might be because the research trees don’t exist yet.
I also hope they make use of War Thunder BR system properly (for AB / RB) so we don’t suffer from the horrible balance of Enlisted semi-historic system and can see some unusual nations equipment going forward.
the mechanised units arent even that good, trucks that are free can do the same things or you can actually build and hide rally points, and the allies vs japan in general is terrible (japan in general are just bad in that game) the balance between allies vs axis vs soviets is far better
Of they stick with the Enlisted gameplay it will die just like naval did. Plus there is way more competition for infantry gameplay besides war thunder. It’s either they actually listen to feedback or waste money trying
I remember firing up a US game for the first time in Enlisted. Against me (an M13, basic infantry, and snipers) were Germans of perhaps 2nd or even 3rd rank. I saw long-barreled Panzer IVs, Pak 40s, I think BF-110s, and a lot of MG-42s. A very balanced game.
