Yeah, plus that greed is a heavy mistake. They’re overusing that hype, and at this rate they’ll run out of modern aircraft in just a few years. And when that’ll happen, since the playerbase will be used to being overfed top tiers they’ll start leaving. Short-sighted strategy

It sure is the bridge, but they didn’t have to rush towards newer stuff after adding it.
They could very well have added the F-14A with just Sparrows and kept working on 1st to 3rd/early 4th gen stuff.
Imagine we get block 4 F-35 with everything since every F-35 armament basically has to get used by one of ours to be integrated.

The Tomcat would have been a very capable fighter plane even without the AIM-54 in WT.
It would have been a better balancing approach as well.
Plus the Tomcat didn’t carry Phoenixes when it was first produced.

The F-14s role isn’t even part of WT.
There is no mode in which you can perform that role.
Well in the weird air mode with the bunch of bomber bots, but that’s about it.
Fleet air defence can technically be done if there is a carrier on the map
They banned top/high tier planes from that mode
Or yk if the carrier would stay with the fleet… (such a stupid design)

Oh I haven’t played it in forever I didn’t even know that.
There’s certainly a few options Gaijin could go for, stuff like the ACH-47A or something like the MV-22B would be cool to see. (V-22 is technically a medium lift helicopter but close enough)
