Yeah, but either way, its a great way to test how they model IIR seekers
I agree in principle, but I think people are expecting the ground iris-t will be 1 to 1 with the air launched variant.
I’m not totally convinced it will be the case.
oh thats how you meant it,
well i hope that they fix the mechanical radars, it is pretty annoying atm
the constant ghost targets,
targets not being picked up,
tagets not being refreshed properly
ik it is worse for the EF but it also affects a few other top tier radars
Hmm… Obviously ground launch kills a lot of range and agility
but I cant see why the seekers themselves would be any different if they didnt differ IRL.
Yeah, TWS+ being broken is another problem ontop of the CAPTOR-Ms existing problems. But what everyone is experiencing since last major is what we’ve had since december
ik i was able to fly the subterainian german EF
Does it not have some kind of different engine or add in booster?
I doubt the seekers are identical over the course of the production life cycle.
Ground launched iris-t should be quite recent and any plane ones would certainly be earlier in the production run.
But yes, I’m mostly thinking the seekers won’t be like people expect and the air version might not be as good.
from what i can tell the IRIS-T SLS only has different software
Base version no, but I think there is an extended range version as well thats like 40km.
A bit like ASRAAM / CAMM —> CAMM-ER —> CAMM-MR
I dont know about that actually, either way, Id expect them to be identical in game.
I think they will the same in air and ground but neither will be anything like IRL and instead will be IRCCM+ rather than IIR
that is the IRIS-T SLM
I’m mostly a ground player so the new things just look meh.

The map and vehicle model visual updates are always great, won’t ever complain about those.
-
The new SAMs are a needed, but still pretty boring, addition. Although their capabilities are pretty much still a bit controversial imo.

2A4NL and proto Leclerc are eh for me, already have most of the French ground tree done anyway.
Stuff like the Leclerc XLR (with a better round) and SEPv3 could come in as semi counterparts to the 2A7s/122s.
After that it’s 1-2 more rounds of more modern MBTs and there are a bunch of crazy 80s/90s MBT prototypes.
Yeah the Type 625 looks like one of the more fun new spaas.
Ah yeah, Air and Naval are my main gamemodes, so as much as I want things like Ajax, Warrior VerdI II or CR2 overhauls. Id be happier with Typhoon and Harrier Overhauls and new features like ECM.
Which reminds me, with Falklands map coming, I think I need to double down on getting Coastal sorted just in case they add a Type 21 Frigate alongside it
yeah but its so pain especially the british costal
Yeah, it is rough
Great, more 2020’s vehicles…
as much as I like the look of the Type 12Is they are so bad
I think it is exceedingly rare in the case of electronics manufacturing, especially military parts, to continuously manufacture exactly the same part for several decades.
I don’t see a reason the seeker of a first batch iris-t would be the same as a batch from whenever the ground launched variant was offered.
But that’s just a suspicion on my part.
I hope so. I think having a lock range far outside the NEZ is probably quite bad for gameplay, although maybe the option would be nice.
But I think with the more advanced seekers that are practically impossible to flare (anything more advanced than the current AIM-9M) are going to be seriously detrimental to gameplay unless directional heat sensitivity (like you say about the harrier) is added or some serious overhaul of seeker and countermeasure mechanics.
Although I do wish for pre-nerf R-27ET seeker back. Would like that missile to be more useful.
Any Su-34 buff for air to air would be appreciated also.
What do you mean
