Gripen is again stuck being our only effective CAP/CAS. F-18 is too slow, no K band, and the Gripen is just too limited to effectively multirole. Its a poor excuse for a selection of aircraft, i ignore the F-18 in place of the AJS at 13.0 as at least i can have one somewhat competent CAP aircraft and not some useless mach 1.0 jet placed at the same BR as its counterpart 2 decades newer.
Even worse, the F-86D with only rockets
Its poor at shooting down aircraft and ordinance.
1st gen thermals and is missing its TWS system.
I prefer the Stormer
I wish i didn’t just fight KH-38MT lol, id love to have those types of matches. I think i need to feed the snail to get those types of matches.
Seriously past 10km its not gonna hut anything as the missiles start to swing uncontrollably at a target flying in a straight line.
If we are going on fighting fixed wing CAS, then Type 81 is better than ADATS
If we are going on fighting helis then ADATS is better.
The ability for the Type 81 to pop out of cover, fire a automated weapon and then get back into cover beats out the 1 ish km of extra range but having to sit still like a lemon guiding it and the ADATS missile is easy to beat kinematically
Type 81 is a guaranteed kill if you enter its engagement envelope.
The things like a “Super Strela”
Me flying my Mig 27 within 3km and the type 81 missing because im too close for it. Seriously when people learn to bait the missile one direction the Type 81 becomes food the closer you get.
You have to see it and you get no warnings
Why is Flakrakrad better than Adats? You have a better radar with more scan angle and range, you don’t have to reload your missiles, and you have a gun that can be used to defend yourself against close planes
I wish that was true, reality is different, even Drones (the attack drones, not scout) are often impossible to lock.

VT1 is a superior missile
Honestly i think ive died like 2 times total to type 81, ive killed about a dozen with my 10.0 Su-25 so i cant say they are that difficult lol.
I also played the Type 81 and its pretty meh imo, i dont know how it goes up lol
maybe angles everything else you said is wrong lol the ADATS has 10km the Flakrad has 12km, the ADATS missiles after the changes no longer turn past 5km
I mean? that makes a bit of sense they are way cooler then an afterburning 4th gen jet
Drones are a nonsense, Stormer can’t hit them either.
Just from experience, die more to Type 81C than Pantsir when flying a Typhoon
That applies to the VT1 tbf, after about 8km good luck hitting anything as your missiles fly left and right constantly.
Tbf though the ADATS isn’t much better, both honestly suck so much to use especially given the vehicle platforms that are present.
i mean that makes sense since the brimstones force you to hover around the battlefield to even have a shot at match the Su30SM or F15E for kills
Vt1 feels the same and you also get blinded by a cloud of smoke during launch. Both of these missiles dont manuever like the Russian ones
still statistically the VT1 is better then the ADATS
That being said, people over estimate the capability of the Type 81 (C) a lot. The Contrast lock is unrealibe (and can be fooled), the IRCCM is unrealible and can be flared.
Funny enough, the fuze doesn’t work against Scout drones.
