Couple of years.
Still gives you a ~3km window (assuming you are evading and thus drain the missile of enough energy limiting the range even further).
fair, although iirc the swedish thing only has 4 ready to launch missiles. so it’ll be the classic case of overwhelming it if it can’t get to a cap.
It’s still a good addition, don’t get me wrong. However these are not the game changing highly needed SAM systems that top tier need, they feel more like sidegrades to already lacking systems.
well iam mostly interested how the IRIS-T is going to perform on it because we are going to eventually see it on aircraft as well
I respect the judgement of lots of guys in there, but it’s just pure speculation and hypothesis.
Unfortunately we will simply see what happens.
and I cant think of a better/fairer way of testing them than adding a SAM with them.
If they added them onto aircraft, everyone would have to get them, but in ground it doesnt matter if they are too strong nor does it matter if only a few nations get them initially
It is a win win situation, because Gaijin can indeed also test how missiles like these perform in the game before afding them to planes too early.
I’m still not sure if I’m now more or less excited for the next update. I’m curious, but have the bad feeling that this could be another rather boring update for ground players.
Im assuming / desperately hoping that the new map is an EC map. If it is, that right there makes this a good update in my books, especially if they dont screw it up.
After that, im just hoping the SHar work they started last major update gets finished and the CAPTOR-M gets added to the Typhoon.
Only thing im fearing is them adding Yamato and Bismark to 7.0 naval and leaving everyone else with what they have currently. could be… messy
are there really any major MBTs left to add
because i feel like if it isnt top-tier gaijin will not bother to add it
do you mean the captor-e?
i hope so as well iam getting bored of playing the same 5 maps in Sim EC
1 more major round of upgrades
Leopard 2A8
T-14
Challenger 3
K-2
etc etc
At this rate, not by this year
No, CAPTOR-M.
What we have is a Blue Vixen with tweaked numbers. Nothing that made the CAPTOR-M so special or capable has been added yet like Priority Track. In fact at the moment, the CAPTOR-M is one of the weakest top tier radars at the moment despite being the best M-Scan radar IRL.
Yeah, should have been averaging 1 per year, not 1 per 3 years
I’m in two minds about this. Gone are the days of premium sraam and r-73 su-25 to test new missiles, but…
I’m not sure how strong ground launched iris-t will be. Either it’s their new biggest mistake or it’s going to be mediocre. I really can’t believe it’s going to be anything other than extremely potent or extremely disappointing.
If it is disappointing then it doesn’t matter if it is on every plane.
If it is extremely strong, then it will be ruinous even on one ground vehicle.
But I still think many people are getting a bit excited and certain that this missile will be the solution. We don’t even have it fully confirmed yet and we don’t know how it even performs.
I’m excited because I like rotary autocannons!
Yeah, but either way, its a great way to test how they model IIR seekers
I agree in principle, but I think people are expecting the ground iris-t will be 1 to 1 with the air launched variant.
I’m not totally convinced it will be the case.
oh thats how you meant it,
well i hope that they fix the mechanical radars, it is pretty annoying atm
the constant ghost targets,
targets not being picked up,
tagets not being refreshed properly
ik it is worse for the EF but it also affects a few other top tier radars
Hmm… Obviously ground launch kills a lot of range and agility
but I cant see why the seekers themselves would be any different if they didnt differ IRL.
Yeah, TWS+ being broken is another problem ontop of the CAPTOR-Ms existing problems. But what everyone is experiencing since last major is what we’ve had since december
ik i was able to fly the subterainian german EF
