Oh man that’s what I’m hoping for so much, a good kick in the butt for the US administration! We haven’t had this since the cold war, and we can see how much this matters. The US answer to the Su-27 was the ground breaking 5th Gen F-22 Raptor, imagine what they could do to counter this new Chinese 6th gen.
it never ended, just halftime
That is true, I hope this turns into a MiG-25 Situation.
The F-117 shootdown wasn’t just about stealth, they detected it at 23km with a radar that likely had a max range of about 80km, but it isn’t actually known what radar or SAM system was used and they had to know the flight path because they couldn’t operate their radars openly for fear of being located, so the radar was only on when the missile was in terminal guidance for only 17 seconds.
And as far as I know, stealth becomes exponentially less effective the closer you get so going from 20km down to 4 is much better than just 5x easier to detect, but the fact is the numbers are classified and everything is just speculation, a MiG-23 might be able to detect a YF-23 at 10km or it might not detect it a 1km, we don’t know because it’s never been tested, but I’d be willing to say within 4-5km even a MiG-23 would see it
PPT=filmstrip
The meaning of PPT in China is something that has not been tested and is only used for computer calculations or estimated data
Oh ok thanks, but this doesn’t really apply to the NGAD though.
Coping for 2028 war thunder already
I don’t think NGAD has any photos or videos of test flights
So that makes it even less likely to be a “filmstrip” aircraft then…
Jokes aside photos or videos really doesn’t matter at all, it doesn’t say anything other than one nation wanting to keep its tech secret and the other one showing it for the rest of the world to steal/copy lol
i think if it stays low, it would be basically unlockable. so could pop up and make 9L/M shots
i think itll be either 9L like you said or 9M at higher BR
Aircraft like NGAD, which have no objective test flight records or even real or wind tunnel models, can be referred to as PPT in China
how many photos or videos of f117 were around in 1983? when it was introduced into service officially
first flight of production 117, not the YF-117 was 1981 btw
true but then it’s more vulnerable to short range IR missiles.
Like I said, 9L at 11.7 would maybe be OK but I still think it’s a dumb suggestion and a waste of time
Good to know, but here in the west those aircrafts can be referred to as, well, just prototype aircrafts. I’m sure the US has completed wind tunnel testing of the NGAD before switching to full scale prototype back in 2020. I guess PPT is comparable to a “Paper Aircraft” ? Which the NGAD isn’t.
Watch the YF-23 come after the F-22s release as a top rank but not top br premium
If it is ever added it should be after the F-22, SU-57, and J-20 at the very least
it would be perfect platform to see how much a stealth fighter would affect air
no RWR, CM, radar, HMD, or irst after all, just stealth, supercruise, and sidewinders
And style too lol
Ofc these come together
Yeah, it only makes sense, and then the F-35 a little later
