Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

Sure, then we get the F-35, J-20, and SU-57 so everyone has a 5th Gen and then the F-22 can come a little later as a premium

no, F-35A in F-16 line, F-35B attacker line, F-35C navy line, F-22 in F-15C line

I think this can be considered brainrot lol

Sounds like propaganda the US havent even decided on the requirements for NGAD. Likely flown some test aircraft for the powerplants.

They have no international partners keen to develop with them. Europe after being burned by F-35 weapon integration delays.

Japan, UK and Italy are developing Tempest
France, Sweden and Germany all exploring partnerships.

The NGAD as reported will destroy the US procurement budget.

I’m kidding about the premium, but I don’t see the F-22 coming earlier than other 5th gens like they did with the F-14, it was a cool update, but really bad for game balance.

I do think an F-22 and SU-57 at a minimum, J-20 could come later as tbh I trust the Chinese more than the Russians when it comes to 5th gen, so maybe J-20 and F-35 could come a patch or two later

they only just did the requirement revisit recentkly this year

4 year ago its realistic to have a prototype

remember, 15 years from YF-22 to F-22 introduced so its more than possible

That’s your opinion, I could say the chinese 6th gen is only a shell and has the avionics of a 4th gen, and all of those videos are only propaganda because it isn’t really a 6th gen if it has outdated avionics.

What can I tell you more? The NGAD has flown 4 years before the Chinese 6th gen, not matter how mad this can make people, it’s just a fact.

Hasn’t flown yet, this could all be propaganda too.

top gun 3 about F-22, force them to drop F-22 early?

ad yeah, chinese have J-16 and J-10C to keep them going during F-22, then they can get J-20

I dont doubt they have something, but i doubt its even close to what NGAD will eventually become.
Im looking forward to how they maintain RAM coatings whilw flying at Mach 6.0

i mean tbh YF-23 had cockpit based on F-15, wheels from F-18, you are probably right but it doesnt mean that much if they use older gen stuff for prototypes

Top Gun is navy so best bet it would be the F-35 xD

I dont believe thats a 6 gen airframe either
Looks more like an S-70/Loyal wingman drone

Rather than a Gen 6 aircraft.

probably an airframe/engine demonstrator like YF-22 and 23, maybe limited aam firing capabiity

it had a cockpit though lol

At the same time, Russia’s Su-75 fifth-generation aircraft is still in the PPT

I know, but the F-22 surely didn’t have the avionics of those aircraft. What makes a 6th gen what it is are the electronic warfare components it incorporates and other avionics related stuff, so it would basically be a fancy 5th Gen.

its smoke and mirrors lol

tbh, we dont even really know what constitutes a true 6th gen yet

so yeah, its not a 6th gen probably, but its a big step to one

They started a completely new design from scratch based on respective experiences with BAE Tempest and Mitsubishi F-X barely a year ago, how do you think there would be a flying prototype already?

BAE is working on an independent Tempest Demonstrator right now, while actual GCAP design is not final yet and will likely change quite a bit based on British evaluation of the BAE demonstrator and heavier input from Italy/Japan (since current GCAP design is just the British demonstrator)

Spoiler

BAE Tempest demonstrator under construction, still a long way from flying

The USAF has stated it is a 6th gen, we cannot know more than this. However you are free to believe what you want, I personnaly believe this chinese 6th gen is just an attempted show of force with a few outdated avionics or FCSs taken from the J-20 or something else, but who knows really?
