It sounds good until you realize that Israel gets the same amazing airframe with the Python 4 that has the same seeker as the M-10 but is in a better missile, and also has those amazing Fox 3s, so it’s less of a tradeoff and instead just worse, which from Gaijins POV is probably fine for a minor nation but not so much the US
an actual tradeoff is having to pick between the extended range of a Python 4 vs the better seeker and TVC of a 9X, I mean hell bring the 9X in nerfed like they did with the Magic 2 so the US can get a better IR missile without the potentially OP IRCCM, I mean isn’t that what DCS does, nerf the IRCCM to make the game more fun?
Also, the fact that the F/A-18C was one of the lead platforms for the 9X alongside the F-15C makes me think it’s more likely though sill probably further down the line

The Python 4 would be the best missile out of all the high performance 4th gens, so I would be ok with seeing it limited to the F-16D and Kfir C.10 and the other jets getting the AIM-9M-10 to be kept in line with the US.
I dislike it when they need missiles for “balans”, considering those missiles typically don’t get their performance back. It also feels disingenuous playing with a fake thing.
It’s really all speculative though and gaijin will do gaijin, I have a feeling they’ll land somewhere in the middle of our predictions.
I semi agree with you, the Macic 2 for example should eventually get its true performance, but with missiles like the 9X, IRIS-T, ASRAAM, and Python 5 I think that they will and should always be somewhat nerfed, there is definitely a point at which missiles will become too good for the game to actually be enjoyable and IR missiles are especially dangerous for that, their flight performance should reflect real life but their flare rejection will probably never be accurate and I think that is a good thing

100%, unless we see advanced IRCM, such as the kind that shines a laser into the missile’s seeker to disable it. Those types of planes should only fight other planes capable of that though. I really would not want to see a MICA IR in my F-16AOCU with all 45 CMs it has.
The Block 20 MLU is based on a Block 15 airframe while the AJ is based on the Block 10 airframe. The MLU also includes other changes such as AN/APG-66(V)3, additional countermeasures and AMRAAM integration, the latter two sadly missing in game.
Meanwhile the AJ is literally just the Block 10 from the US tree but with Sparrows while it lost the GBU-8 (no idea why considering AJ was advertised with them).
The issue with that is that in reality no Block 10 was ever equipped with the necessary modifications to use Sparrows, they were first introduced with the F-16A Block 15 ADF variant.
Oh absolutely, advance IRCM and ECM in general would change the playing field more towards defense but until we see that it is hard to comment, I also don’t know what Gaijin’s stance on ECM is, I know we’ve seen it a little on the SU-25 but it’s not a lot to go on
They said something about working on ESM in the disclosures with BvvD a while back, hopefully that means they intend to package them together.
I wonder if we’ll ever see anything like the Growler in game if electronic warfare becomes a thing.
I mean not that I expect anything air battles haven’t figured out strike aircraft past bombing bases and shooting static ground targets for usually no gameplay reason or benefit

I mean at this point, with modern planes relying on ECM more than ever flare and chaff are less and less relevant, and flare resistance can actually be nerfed through better flares like polyphoric ones.
Whatever works, I just don’t think we ever get to the point where there is a 5-10km bubble around every aircraft where if you enter you both just die
