Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion

I mean aside from the radar, weapons are just a balance issue, so there’s nothing actually wrong with their loadouts, and now that AESA is an option they may well update the radar

and the SAAF thing is just for balance

You need official sources, you have a lot of 2nd hand sources and not first. Actual documents from the manufacturer or the military would be what you need.

Heres an example, this is Del 3, which is the main inage to the source i used to adjust the engine temp and acceleration alongside ceiling limit of the viggens.

Missing the 5th bomb pylon since introduction, BOL is underperforming by a huge margin, honestly the list of problems with the gripen as huge

BOL isn’t a Gripen issue tbf it’s a BOL issue

If SAAF players actually spent 5 minutes looking into what they have instead of assuming they had an MS20 it would be a godsend unfortunately thats too late since gaijin gave britain the C first so thats the defacto post most players use which is what caused most problems.

Simply none available for a 2011 heli and a 2020 rocket. This is the issue, Gaijin shouldn’t refuse to accept direct evidence of very modern vehicles having corrections or additions, these pictures provided are good enough to proof that they are indeed mounted and fired. Otherwise, I don’t see how when newer vehicles will be fixed. Up to this point Z10 still has a 1970s RWR and neglected equipment, when clear evidence are provided against it. Gaijin does need some consistency with the need of sources, but this isn’t some internal unseeable change, it is external and very obvious, so Gaijin should at least consider this as an addition.

I mean the SAAF Gripen never used the R-Darter IIRC.

The issue is that at the time Britain really needed an aircraft for top tier so the SAAF Gripen was botched to fit the gap, it’s not necessarily any worse than the F-16AJ

I hate to break it to you but anytime i mention MS to gaijin they deny the post considering theyve been feed so much misinformation from the SAAF post that MS isnt even something they wqnt to learn about. It sucks considering the swedish players were busy bug reporting the Gripen A instead of fixing the fires on the SAAF post…

Honestly if britain getting a gripen would then warrant nerfing the only vehicle for sweden then gaijin shouldn’t have added the Gripen C to britain at the same time as the A. Because of SAAF the C gets to be all sorts of messed up. Gaijin should’ve added the A when the F16C came out

Again the C should’ve been added when sweden got it considering 99% of the brits had no idea what they were bug reporting and the state of the gripen shows…

Chieftain with Challenger turret

I dunno why, but I love these oddball legacy tanks with modern turrets

Literally just a Challenger 1 sans thermals. The original batch of Shir 2s were reworked into the CR1 Mk.1s.

Yeah, up to this point, a 2010 heli having AN/APR39 from AH6 or AH1F is ridiculous. I really would love for some one to do what this guy does but for all trees A thread that helps you comprehensively understand Chinese 125mm MBT Armor Bugs in game - Machinery of War Discussion / Ground Vehicle - War Thunder — official forum All in one, helps so much.

Eh, I’ll take that anyways, it looks goofy and I love goofy looking tanks

Maybe, but asking Britain to wait another 6th months for a viable top tier aircraft also wasn’t a good option.

And I don’t think it’s fair to say the Swedish one was nerfed because of the SAAF one, the radar for the MS20 was only a potential addition this last update, if anything you got the GBU-39 long before you should have.

Realistically the fix for the Gripen C is to remove the GBU-39, that puts it back at MS17 right? then you can introduce a Gripen C late or Gripen E when new missiles become available

See, you’re missing the point, every nation a gripen aside from sweden has an alternative vehicle they can play, sweden is stuck with a gimped vehicle as their only option. If sweden had Danish F16 AM than id be fine, at least i could play my home nations jet instead of some mid 13.7 against 14.0’s, unfortunately gaijin essentially permanently ruined the only vehicle for top tier sweden thoigh not surprising you wouldn’t know. It why ive been playing literally any other nation considering they have alternatives (and also since i now have to grind 3 eft’s…the grind never stops)

Also the R dater is literally listed as compatible with the Gripen C MS19 so even if its not in service it was added until we get IRIS-T as thats the only missile the SAAF gripens use. Again why hold back all gripens C’s for the sake of the SAAF especially now that EFT is here?

Did you even read my post? The gripen A shouldve been added when F16C came out which was before the gripens in December. That way gaijin could added both Gripens in December and they could already have the flight model fixed from the A.

Literally no such thing as a late, gripen C’s should be identified bybtheir MS, and considering gaijin has chosen to mix and match models before (F5C…) theres no reason the Gripen can’t be given its MS20 radar when we have AESA radars. Again considering it cant dogfight the 14.0’s, cant fly faster, and holds the fewest amount of missiles giving it a better radar would be at least something.

Also why would they go back to MS17? They should go to MS18 as that is the main jump form the Gripen A as that adds the recon pod and aerial refueling pump which was the upgrade from the A. So we would get the MS18 with the PS0/5A MK.II radar

MS17, 2004: color displays, better avionics, support for more weapons.

MS18, 2005: improved radar, a new system for electronic warfare, more data links, support for a reconnaissance pod with an advanced digital camera, and aerial refueling.

MS19, 2007: Improved night-flying, up to 8 hour sorties, Robot 98 [IRIS-T], protection against homing missiles, new bombing system, and NATO-datalink Link 16.

MS20, 2016: Meteor. Long-range radar-controlled hunting robot. Interacts with the aircraft’s sensors and support systems to detect and intercept enemy aircraft. Powered by ramjet engine, making it significantly harder to avoid. GBU-39. Small Diameter Bomb (SDB). A GPS-guided high-precision bomb with long-range capability. CBRN protection. The new protection against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats makes it possible to carry out missions in contaminated environments. GCAS, Ground Collision Avoidance System. Automatic system to prevent collision with the ground in uncontrolled flight mode. Link 16 combat command link - extended functionality and faster data handling between the aircraft, the command center and other combat aircraft.

hope spice munitions enter files soon

spice 250 is enough as a counter, its advanced IIR/CCD seeker even not as powerful as the gbu53 ,is still very capable, just imagine a kh38 seeker we have ingame but more op with the other factor that you can carry 28 of these bombs!!!

It’s more accurate to say Challenger 1 is a modified Shir 2.
