I was replying to “F-2s weapons are already in game”, and was listing some of the weapons the F-2 carries that aren’t.
Though there are a few things wrong with these missiles still, even if they perform fine gameplay wise for the current state of the game.
AAM-3 lacks bank to turn steering, which essentially allows the missile to roll and always get optimal (dual plane) control authority, which would be a difference from the current single plane 40G to 56G dual plane. It also currently has AIM-9M IRCCM, when in reality it uses much more sophisticated dual channel IR/UV seeker akin to the one found on the Stinger MANPADS.
AAM-4 is still too slow to accelerate, and pulls 32G instead of the accurate 25G, though 25G are a software limit to reduce energy loss rather than an aerodynamic limitation. It also has inaccurate datalink that cuts off external input once the missile seeker goes active, while in reality the datalink is specifically designed to use combined input from both the missile as well as the aircraft all the way through the terminal phase of guidance. Seeker lock range should also be 15km, before that it would be guided on DL/IOG only.
That’s like saying F-15C/E is DOA…
BR system exists for a reason.
There’s really no such thing as “too late” when the BR will balance it, or make it more powerful than the competition in the case of the first Tornado F3.
Ok but then are you saying the F/A-18 should have come over other aircraft? I’d concede I would rather have it than the F-15E, I mean I have expressed repeatedly that I would like the F/A-18, it is probably my favorite American jet
and I said the US doesn’t need it, need being the operative word, the US has plenty, if there is a choice between giving the US a new near top tier jet and giving 5 nations new meta jets, especially when only 2 other nations have jets of the same class then yes, I’d say the US can wait
And I just dont understand why both can’t come together. It wasn’t difficult to give Russia another near top tier airframe despite getting something just as much as the US has. As you said, not everything needs to be meta. And its clear an F/A-18 wouldn’t have been.
But it didn’t. And people were pissed. Now we wait for whatever state it comes in whenever it does despite being 12 months late. Like I said at the start, I just hope the US gets to enjoy it for an uodate before its copy and pasted into other nations.
@Smin1080p_WT Will developers consider releasing more statistics surrounding top tier fox-3 missiles? Currently developers are lip-tight about the in-game performance statistics of missiles. This could help clarify a lot of things and also align the community’s view of things with the developers.
The parallel project of Su-34, Su-32FN, was a navalized version of the platpus. It was however never realized. Hence why it is weird to see it on a deck.
