I would bet on everything in the decal for the first patch (March). The reliable leak lists confirmed it was under development and coming soon (even if pushed back for reasons), and the devs should know full well that teasing things a few months out then turning around and saying “technically we only said 2025, it’ll be later” is only going to create a bunch of complaining, a complete hype/marketing backfire.
The F-2 itself as a whole sure but not in terms of it being just one vehicle. There are like 3 different variants with 3 different radars. One with a unique sensor + plus early prototype…so a whole line of F-2s can in theory be made. What sucks is that they havent added any of them not even the early or prototype forms which would of fit the game more then fine by now.
TBH given how fast the game develops, wouldnt be surprised when the GCAP gets introduced on the same year it plans to go active service. Actually given the 2030 projected plan it might even be before that.
I wouldn’t underestimate the power of 10 of the best A2A missiles currently in game, the Hornet might not be the fastest thing in the world but it isn’t a sluggish aircraft, it’s still a very good dogfighter, and being able to react quickly to things is important.
For 14.0 it’ll be like the F-14A is to the F-16 ADF, poor thrust but a great dogfighter and perfectly capable BVR platform once you get some altitude
Eventually Gaijin will have to look ahead, so I wouldn’t be surprised if, once all fifth gens are added, Gaijin starts to push into the territory of proposed sixth gens.
The F/A-18C is worse than a lot of 13.7s. There’s no reason to believe it’ll be 14.0.
I’d rather a Tier 0 with WWI planes, personally. :P
As would I, however Gaijin doesn’t care much.
Well, no games to such day ever envisioned gen 5 in details, let alone gen 6 which is still very much left to be defined. But on the other hand, there are already a lot of “make-dos” in the coding when the game plays around gen 4, it can be imagined that the basic codes would be challenged when sophisticated stealth mechanics gets introduced, such as obtaining accurate RCS from any aircraft to any aircraft in any said position within a match.
Funny enough, Sea Power (and RTW3) is what convinced me that anti-ship missiles need to stay out of War Thunder by any means necessary.
Technically speaking I can imagine the ilya muromets in war thunder. Still a fat target, but has some machine guns for self defense and pretty decent bomb load.
Oh yeah, the game would basically have to play itself and the maps would need to be massive for ASMs to work, although at the same time I’m not sure it would be much different to top tier air is now, or at least what it’s going to become at this rate
Naval gameplay involves shooting each other off the spawn. The first killfeeds would probably come 60 seconds off the game start. It is already a big problems for players reluctant to move off their spawn unless there are cover in naval already. Also, the fact that realistic naval gameplay is not fun is probably understood clearly by both the players and gaijin.
XF-2 (never ever lol)
F-2 (Early) (this year (lol as if), yucky but fitting name, AAM-3 and AAM-4)
F-2 (Late) (w/AAM-5 and AAM-4B)
F-35B
Yeah, it would be end of the line, but only because better planes/versions have to wait later.
Eugene Stoner casually rolling out rifles so good that almost every modern rifle in NATO inventory is based off of them in some way or another.
African Gulf definitely has an “open and close spawns” issue (just put an island there, guys) but otherwise it’s mostly fine. Would be nice to have slightly more distance between friendlies so you can turn though…

A lot of maps has these issues, where each players spot the other team off spawn and began shooting right away. As we describe it, battle in a bathtub. Perhaps Erich Reader wouldve liked this kind of engagement, but definitely not allied, Soviet or Japanese admirals.
I may be the only American who doesnt like m16 platforms. They jam too much.
Naval is doable, but seems like that it requires tremendous effort to be put into it. Realistic gameplay in naval is often not fun, due to how a ship is almost gaurnteed to smash the ship below its weight class but also smashed by the class above. Air gameplay is bland but I wont complain about that.
Then there comes the map design. Something to make realistic gameplay marginally fun should be expanding the possibilities of enduring confrontation. Scouting, screening, position would all play a part. At this rate Id rather play HOI4 naval(LOL).
Lastly, there will be countries that isnt fun to play no matter how gaijin reworks naval. Each nations doctrine would only perhaps be favored in one gamemode or the other. One comment regarding British naval pre-nelson class was the fact that the WT naval engagements are much of a situation that the Germans wouldve liked but the Brits would not advise an engagement.
