They should have used Japan to try out putting subs in their own tab. Would’ve been interesting to see and paved the way for easier subtree integration for larger countries (US, USSR, because people think they need one for some reason).
But that sounds like logical game design and thinking ahead, not happening at Gaijin.
At least the way they’re doing it now might make it a shorter grind to a potential Su-30MKM/MK2. Unless they double down on my 2nd sentence and put it after the Gripen for some reason.
Well here a rough draft for what I have in mind but it’s literally like helicopters with an Israeli style lock.
Either research up to that point in the tree to unlock it or buy the premium.
Likely because they don’t actually add sub-trees for the nation that became a sub-tree in question. After all sub-trees are just a way to buff the host without doing any real work(unique stuff(both)/fixing host tree vehicles).
So anyone who wants to see sub-trees because worthwhile additions support the tabs idea. Else right now becoming a sub-tree will see all of said nations domestic/unique stuff never be added. (And when it is its unattainable, so it’s basically like it was never added.)
This is true for air to air combat, although I’ll say the Su-27SM seems to do a lot better now with the F-M1’s. Su-30M and Su-30MKK are viable at the right BR, and mostly as an extension of a ground strike/multirole plane. They are iconic (at least the Su-30MKK is) to their nations, and deserve to be in the TT.
In general yes, but when your Nation vehicles always end up on the “not meta” end of the stick it gets frustrating.
Meta Defining Vehicles should shift from update to update to diffrent Nations so everyone gets a slice of “being a littel bit bedder then the rest” cake.
Given the decal, it makes more sense that Smin’s response to Su-30 and F-18 was a “not this update” as it means there are plans for it already in motion.
However, this does have me concerned for the F-2 as the response for that has been “no information at this time” which to me says there are no plans at all yet in the near future about it.
I’d like to think that it’s the same response despite different wording but hope is a dangerous thing after all
that would be pretty mad, I mean they’ve started adding AESA radars, if the F-2 isn’t in the cards then Gaijin must truly hate Japan, I have to believe that it is coming at the very least this year, and ideally in the first half
Im gonna be honest, likely no. The last time someone got a gripen, they didnt get a unique jet until the eurofighter, in fact, there was two cases. Would likely be a “ye got a gripen calm down” moment. But would like to be proven wrong on this case too.
That “last time someone got a Gripen” was a country that couldn’t get anything until the Eurofighter, in fact that was both times, so in this case it would be, Japan just got a Gripen, they now won’t get anything until the F-2, and there’s nothing stopping the F-2 now that AESA radars are being added
