Unless the F/A-18 is coming with early gen 9Xs and 120Cs, the thing is going to be DOA. It made so much more sense to bring it within the last two updates, especially since it offered no real threat to the EFT and Rafale. It would’ve been no different than the Su-33 that got added beyond being a more popular name/air frame. But Gaijin, in a testiment to their wack implementation strategy, decided to skip it. I think I’m most excited for the Panstir to continue to exist without any nations getting an equal or it getting a nerf. Two years is a milestone.

Everyone and their dog said it was going to perform worse than the EFT, Rafale, and F-15E. So it wouldn’t have been a top tier contender. By that logic, the Su-33 didnt really need to come this past update.
And to be clear, the Su-33 is absolutely a top tier. If it can face 14.0 airframes because of the uptiering mechanic of the game, it absolutely is a top tier. It just happened to be another means for Gaijin to allow players to fillout a top tier line up. Something nobody else really gets to do.
Gaijin cant add 8 new jets every patch, and yes a F/A-18C with 10 120s would have been a top tier contender, slightly slower than the F-15E about the level of the 15C MSIP II
While Germany cut about in an F-4…Dont worry thats Europe done now, the next foreseeable updates will be Russian and USA (with maybe a Gripen E and F-2 in between)

Again, unless it comes with early 9Xs and 120Cs, its going to be DOA. There was nothing stopping them for adding it last patch, or three updates ago if we are being real about its performance, beyond bad implementation. Which we know to be a staple of the studio.
I do agree that the EU is effectively done besides maybe another ETF variant and whatever US hardware they get from sub trees. And Smin did say no nation is getting an F/A-18 before the US.

Sorry but that’s crap, a Hornet with 10 120s (maybe they add C it’s not going to get the X and to be honest US mains don’t want the X) and a great Radar is going to be a threat. Is it as good as a Typhoon no but that doesn’t make it bad. I killed Mig 29s and F-15s in a Tornado
They cannot add every vehicle every update. Gaijin decided to delay the F/A-18 and added the Euro Canards

Since the subtree is more attack oriented, I wish they put all the Thai aircraft there instead of mixing them in the interceptor and indigenous lines, as if they didn’t care (surely they do). Freeing the interceptor line up for a more fighter oriented “sub” like an Indo-Malay line, and keeping the indigenous fighter line the way it is.
Instead of, y’know, haphazardly splaying them across the tree in a manner that suggests they don’t care about the game or the tech tree, which they surely do. (ha ha, nope, couldn’t type that last part without chuckling)

Tbh at this point it would of been easier to add a Asean tab I mean we literally have a premium. So there nothing stopping them.

They should have used Japan to try out putting subs in their own tab. Would’ve been interesting to see and paved the way for easier subtree integration for larger countries (US, USSR, because people think they need one for some reason).
But that sounds like logical game design and thinking ahead, not happening at Gaijin.
At least the way they’re doing it now might make it a shorter grind to a potential Su-30MKM/MK2. Unless they double down on my 2nd sentence and put it after the Gripen for some reason.

Well here a rough draft for what I have in mind but it’s literally like helicopters with an Israeli style lock.
Either research up to that point in the tree to unlock it or buy the premium.

Maybe put this in front of the F84 to start this Tree like they done it for Helicopters.

Likely because they don’t actually add sub-trees for the nation that became a sub-tree in question. After all sub-trees are just a way to buff the host without doing any real work(unique stuff(both)/fixing host tree vehicles).
So anyone who wants to see sub-trees because worthwhile additions support the tabs idea. Else right now becoming a sub-tree will see all of said nations domestic/unique stuff never be added. (And when it is its unattainable, so it’s basically like it was never added.)
