It is confirmed to be a regional subtree, not just Thailand, so we can expect multiple nations. My guess would be Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, which would make the tree about similar in potential to Britain with South African and Indian subtrees, and would be a good analogue to Chinas planned multi nation subtree that was also confirmed recently.
Not sure about air or ground being first though. On one hand ground has the most space as of now, but air is the one specifically addressed…
On the China topic though, that is another option that could be soon. It is very much possible Gaijin will add their subtree first to try and manage their response to a Japanese subtree.
Honestly when I’m not grinding for a vehicle in RB I’m spending 20% of my time in Air Sim and 80% just flying about in Test Flights having my own fun. Test flights are just more engaging than ARB right now.
F/A-18C Early from USN retain AN/APG-65 radar, General Electric F404-GE-400 engine and countermeasures AN/ALE-39 like F/A-18A capability of using GBU-10/12/16 Paveway II & GBU-24B/B Paveway III laser guided bomb, AIM-9M Sidewinder and AIM-7M Sparrow in operation desert storm. And RWR AN/ALR-67(V)2
The F/A-18 that was datamined last update was the Swiss F/A-18.
However, Smin noted in the previous rumor round-up thread that when the F/A-18 comes, it would not come to Germany before anyone else.
This would imply that the F/A-18 will be added to multiple nations to represent the many operators it had IRL.
Exactly what variants of the F/A-18 would come are unknown, but it’s safe to assume that early variants all the way up to the F/A-18C would be fair game as they are similar in capability to jets already in the game.
At the end of the day I still think China needs no subtree. There should be indegnious designs to fit every BR at every role at like 7.0 above. But gaijin decides so idk.
Again, I have said multiple times, the current consensus was to give Japan a VT4. This then allows players who does not know how bad the Chinese top tiers get a feeling when they are compared to actually decent tanks like the type 10. There are way too much praise on reddit and other forums, thinking it is better than T-80BVM. The “rework” was limited and did not affect the WZ and VT4 as well.
In actual gameplay, it is inferior to pretty much any tank, except for the bottom 3: CR2, C1 and MK4M, and even those has some attributes. Except the CR2 that is beyond salvage. Most players were deceived into thinking the tanks are good for WT because they have superior handling - both in gun and mobility, not only to Russian tanks, but also to quite a lot of western designs. But this cannot mitigate the fact that it has subpar firepower(second/third worst in top tier), and much questionable surviability.
This is of course they think it is a T-72 ripoff which is obviously infuriating.
There is only one F-16C in the US tree currently. F-16CJ Block 50 already was the dedicated Wild Weasel jet for the USAF. F-16CM Block 50 are the same jets but upgraded during CCIP. Should get four HARM as per TO 1F-16CM-1-2. Technically can also get AGM-45 Shrike seeing as we already have the legacy AIM-7 Sparrow on her.
AGM-88 HARM was basic kit for German Tornados. Tornado IDS MFG (Marinefliegergeschwader) should also get it.
(Deutsche Marine Tornado IDS with HARM)
Tornado ASSTA 1 should get better variants.
“Im Einzelnen umfasste dies HARM III, HARM 0 Block IV/V, Kormoran II, Litening II. Im Rahmen letzterer wurden Lenksätze für die lasergelenkten Bomben des Typs GBU-24A/B Paveway III beschafft.”
"In 1990 Block III software was installed in AGM-88B missiles to counter the capabilities of the advanced threats. All AGM-88C missiles contained Block IV software which is currently the latest version. "
FYI F-16A Block 20 upgraded to F-16V Standard are F-16A Block 72.
Neither giving a subtree will. Womp womp severe corruption.
China really only became a top notch navy in the 90s and becoming top 3 in the 2010s, but this does not mean that war thunder should wait for that long.
