dont forget far better angles to fire from with all 8 guns, I honestly think people far over estimate Bismarck because of one lucky shot lol
if you look at the service of the class as a whole they sunk a SINGLE ship between the 2 of them

I just took a look at its armor- and HEH! Perhaps it will be the king after all. Ingame, having all guns in two turrets gives you the ability to angle the ship in a perfect diamond position.
We are talking about a 327mm belt with a 50mm thick sloped deck behind. Bismarck had a thicker raw plating; but Jean Bart’s ability to angle at even 60° will make it incredibly resistant.
Most of the damage will come from the turrets and barbettes; and maybe bulkhead penetrations if unoptimally angled.
Still, can fire torp from the front, rear and side, not have to only relly on it’s gun, that’s just a fun things more to do.
So the only saving grace of Iowa is accuracy and speed
Apparently hit 35 knots
People usually overestimate Bismarck because it’s German, the same way they underestimate (or just don’t know) the Jean Bart because it’s French, less mainstream…
Dont forget about these
The sarcasm isn’t needed thank you. I’m well aware it’s a French vehicle. If you have evidence to show this modification spesifcally (not just the base vehicles name) had a unique name, you are free to report it.
Thd vehicle recaptured had been modified and was different to how it was first captured.
32 knots for the Jean Bart, not far behind :p
while funny I doubt the G3 would be very good in game, the Lion would probably be better since it was designed with 15inch guns in mind
Hopefully, FCSs will be modelled- then, Iowa’s accuracy will actually be a significant advantage as it was in real life.
All this sub talk and yet no one mentions the Alicorn smh, id kill for an Ace Combat crossover event in warthunder.
Yep, i still think that saddly the way the game calcul armor, and the range of the fights gonna favor the Bismarck, Richelieu would be better at aiming from way longer range (radar and all) that what we have ingame.
But i just hope it would for once make us part of the meta and be a threat, not just food for everybody else.
Even with the accuracy, I think US naval would need carriers and subs to be good tbh
AMD.35 (PaK 38) would be appropriate
Just as you guys named the AMD.35 (SA35)
And you guys run loose with names anyway.
Leopard 2A5NL and 2A6NL are manufactured by Gaijin, they never had an “NL” designation in real life. I reported it but apparently, it’s intentional.
You guys also give the names (early) and (late) to vehicles all the time, even though such designations were rarely if ever used.
Then there’s the C2A1, which was reported three years ago (probably longer) but never changed, so I have to imagine it was an intentional decision by Gaijin to keep it like that.
Aren’t both the Puma VTFJ and CV90 MK.IV also wrong?
The puma naming or the tiger uht naming. soooo many examples
I was gonna say, even trying to report and give a logical name change doesn’t work. Its like they are set in stone by the snail regardless of outward opinion but oh well.
Yeah, the examples are endless really.
But just using some simple logic, French crews are obviously going to use the French names for their vehicles.
The French helicopter tiger was “Tiger” for a while and not “Tigre” as it is rightfully now too if my memorie is correct.
If we’re adding low tier light vehicles does that man Japan can finally have a scout vehicle before the M24?
