Imao looking at Spanish Eurocopter leaked for Germany I think people can forget about Spain for Italy (except related to Italy vehicles, like VRCC: VEC, Ca.135S, BRM SIDAM and such).
So probably no Hornet, but we can still have Romanian Lancers, Sniper and F-16AM)

Honestly the EF-18A+ being an Italian Squadron Vehicle would be so cool imo. It would be analogous to the JF-17 being added at 13.3 back when the top BR was 13.7
(But the A+ obviously being 13.7 and the top BR being 14.0 at the moment)
