Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

I have it on good authority it’ll blow your mind how much the Europeans cooked with this one

Which, to be fair, also lets Gaijin do whatever they want. Why would they hold AESA out for so long to the point that we encroach onto Gen 5 territory?

If the choice is between an EFT now with nerfed/ineffective AESA with full armaments versus an EFT much later with overpowered AESA and full armaments. I’m sure most would pick the former, especially German mains.

yeah heard that one before so uh ill believe it when I see it

With the Tornado engies and Radar yeah they wont be much better

Most Typhoons are only recently getitng AESA, most used upgraded Blue Vixen radars for most of their service life so far. Prototype Typhoons would be about equal in overall combat effeciency to the F-15C and Su-27SM

EFT doesn’t get AESA until much later versions (aka the upgrades happening right now)

The planes I listed have TVC for supermaneuverability

CAPTOR-M isn’t upgraded blue vixen

Captor M is a mechanical PD if I remember right which most trenche 1s are

Fairly certain its basd upon the Blue Vixen, not a Mk2, but certainly its descendant

It is based on technology from it yes but to call it a upgraded blue vixen would be wrong

Fair, but my comment was more in general as we’re already kind of approaching the P/AESA realm, if not already.

Just seems strange that we assume everything IRL will translate to WT as is, instead of being nerfed or reworked to fit whatever meta Gaijin desires.

Yep, maybe bad wording on my part. But its got more in common with Blue Vixen than the Fox hunter for example

its kinda started with the ground spaa’s

The F/A-22 Raptor and the Su-57 Felon would be awesome for mid summer’s 2025

Yea, the ASRAD was added, as is, years ago and is a fully functioning AESA, from my understanding and we have the Pantsir which is PESA added a little over a year ago now.

tor aswell

Which one is Tor? PESA?

Without going into it too much, it’d be logical to assume, given what we know about CAPTOR points to it broadly being “good”, we’d like to think (not unreasonably) that the AESA radars are “better”

not to mention that EFs started with AIM-120Bs, and ASRAAM Blk.1 was already in production (available 1998 onwards). Dunno when IRIS-T became available but long and short is you’re also now looking at very very powerful IR missiles too.
