Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

germany would have a 9M equivilant before IRIS-T arrives

Sure, they can be better but, a game is just a game and there’s more to an aircraft than just its radar.

I’m just trying to say there’s little reason to push back on AESA when that can be balanced, just like aircraft have limited armaments or ahistorical loadouts.

TVC is unlikely to save stuff like the Felon or F-22, by virtue of their design, which is to prioritise stealth over manouevrability. Don’t know about the Su-35 but from my very limited knowledge it seems more like a gimmick, or a very limited use ability.

Apart from anything else, the moment ASRAAM with its proper flare resistance gets introduced, or IRIS-T, you may as well forget thrust vectoring. Especially with ASRAAM and later Typhoon variants fitted with PIRATE. You’re unlikely to get to the merge alive.

Tangential but question, do modern aircraft have multi-spectral flares to counter IRCCM?

I would imagine it’s not just “you’re just dead” if you get launched at by these modern missiles and there’s some counter to them?

Oh yeah. Radar to a degree doesn’t matter (thank you multipathing)

I can see Gaijin pushing back on more advanced armaments rather than the radar. Armaments have been withheld for balancing, but to my knowledge Radars have not. Though I suppose with the AESA they can plead ignorance and genuinely not know

There’s that and there’s also introducing AESA radars in a primitive fashion and then as we fully transition to them, refining them. Similar to how PD radars were introduced and refined, as well as RWR mechanics recently.

Er, my understanding is that it’s possible. I’m not the one to ask for that one. My guess is probably.

It wouldn’t be, but my point with ASRAAM is there is the potential for it to be, as there’s the cery real possibility that you don’t know someone’s launched at you, unless of course you’ve eyeballed them or have MAWS to alert you to a launch.

they can be refined more if ECM is added (idk if id really want it tho)

I’m not gonna read all 9,500, mostly made of off topic Missile arguments, and the normal wining about the latest top tier nerf/buff of said commenters favorite tank/nation

Can someone @me the latest leak list?
I would greatly appreciate it lads

So I found the source of that pre-order camo(or well others did):

It is indeed half-baked.

seems to be a theme lately.

Does Gaijin mention that the ground vehicles BR will extend in next time as well? I remember that the gaijin said it will extend as the AIR BR in ground RB coming.

AESA radar only came with the Tranche 3 IIRC.

I have been taking a look at the ground Top Tier additions, and…

So far, the only non-Premium and non-copy-paste addition would be Namer RCWS-30.

The IFV Israel needed, with a 30mm gun which I assume to be similar to PUMA’s and, something I just learned: Spikes! That’s interesting.

Unfortunately, I haven’t really felt like playing Israel for a few months for certain reasons, but… if the Merkavas get their armor fixed, that + Namer could make for a quite interesting Top Tier lineup! Then they would only be missing an SPAA.

I have to ask: how are the Spikes as of now? I remember people being underwhelmed for some time since their addition.

spikes are still complete dogwater

The Spikes’ damage still isn’t that good but I found the Spikes to be very reliable in tracking now, it still sometimes targets dead tanks when the target is right next to it but much less than before.

I’ve had it track targets through forests as well and sometimes through smoke

Overall its tracking is actually quite reliable but damage is not good.

I would like to add that I’ve been using them on the Eurocopter Tiger Block II.

However, they are really fun against enemy helicopters since they loft so high, the MAWS doesn’t trigger on the enemy helis most of the time

not good as you think, in game, you can control a normal missile to hit where you want, but you can’t control spike, and it won’t do much damage, hardly to get an instant kill. But it has it’s advantage in high br, like sniping in big map, it has f&f ability and loft trail, so you can find a hill, stay behind it, lock someone and fire, then hide. normal missile will need to keep guiding and it’s dangerous to keep yourself outside

hardly, Merkava is not designed to fight in normal battles, it’s engine stops any further development in hull armor.

At least the turret, I mean. Not being able to withstand even 3BM42 does certainly not seem sensible…

I understand the hull-related limitations (although 620mm LOS should certainly provide more than 340 mere mm against KE), but at least the turret cheeks should be able to withstand 3BM60, as was the case with LIC for a few months after its release.

and we’ll for sure reach it before the dev server opens
